If you feel like the forum has been running slower, you aren't imagining things. As part of our transition to a more affordable hosting solution I made the final change to downgrade the hosting package. Before we were essentially running a V8 engine to power a lawnmower. It is possible, I pushed things too far and now our lawnmower is being powered by an hand-held fan using a 9-volt battery. I'm going to look for ways to optimize things, but in the meantime be patient with load times - things should eventually appear, just slowly sometimes. If you get any error messages, please let me know.
It seems like things have sped up a bit in the last couple days. Or maybe the website is getting that Fulham win bounce. Either way, as always, thanks for keeping things moving @MicahMan
I'm glad it seems better on your end @astroevan . From my point of view it has gotten better, but it is still not where I'd like to have it. In the old forum I knew that most of our traffic wasn't from true users, but it was hard to tell how much. In the new setup it is easier to see the traffic makeup and it is pretty depressing. 97% of traffic comes from Asia, mostly China. That traffic is mostly just hammering away at invalid pages and looking for possible security holes. That then slows down the site when getting a big hit of requests. We're taking measures to address that, but it is a constant struggle.
