Fulham still haven't announced a new manager, although all signs sill point to Arbeloa.

This is a bit of a head scratcher to me. I don't see Leeds accomplishing anything more than Fulham so I guess they are just willing to pay him more. His move isn't a surprise, I just thought he'd move to a team that actually finished above Fulham.
My son lives in China and gave me a long delayed Christmas present last week. He went to a sports memorabilia store in Shanghai and bought three Fulham "baseball" cards. The players on the cards are:
- Adama Traore
- Raul Jimenez
- Harry Wilson
It is like some kind of horror movie curse! All three players for Fulham gone by the time I got the cards! 😆
Fulham have signed Kusi-Asare on a permanent 5-year deal. This is a very odd one to me. Clearly Silva never wanted him and since Fulham doesn't have a new manager yet, who knows if he'll be wanted this time around either. He's got potential but he's not a sure thing, and Muniz is a huge question mark, so that makes it odd that this was done before bringing in a manager. I guess I've complained before about deals being done too late in the window so maybe I should be happy that something happened in June??

Yesterday it was confirmed that Wilson went to Leeds. Although he was no longer under contract the club still put out a very nice retrospective article on Wilson:

It was interesting to read that no one played more matches under Silva than Wilson. He had his ups and downs over the past few years, but he had a real knack for popping up at the right time in big games. I'm disappointed that he went to Leeds since that feels like a sideways move, but I imagine Fulham and Wilson didn't agree on the value of his future potential, and Wilson at least knew who was managing Leeds. Although Leeds is my least favorite team outside of Chelsea and Brentford, I don't hold any ill will toward Wilson. He gave Fulham a bucket load of great memories and I'll always be thankful for that.
Fulham also released their Top 10 Wilson goals. After watching this I do hope he continues to score against Brentford so we can hear again the answer to "Who put the ball in the Brentford net?":
Hearing that Diop is on his way to Ipswich. Probably a good move for him.
We'll need someone new who will push Andersen for the staring job. Or two new someones if Arbeloa plans to play 3 CBs, unless DeFougerolles is more ready for the Premier League than his experience in Belgium shows.
@daddude7 That makes me sad to hear about Diop. I'd rather keep him than Andersen, but I doubt Fulham could sell Andersen.

I get that this was probably necessary business since he was on the last year of his contract, but it feels weird that he was signed from West Ham for 15 million but he is being sold apparently for 10 million. He is a better player now than when Fulham got him and he is coming off of a terrific World Cup performance so I'm stumped as to how Fulham got less for him. Part of it has to be that he's 29 now, but Fulham would likely have gotten more for him if he'd been given more playing time as Andersen seemed to decline.
It appears that Fulham are finally making a deal! Striker Gonzalo Garcia and midfielder Cesar Palacios and have both apparently been secured from Real Madrid but an official announcement has not been made yet. Garcia is a 22 year old center forward who made regular appearances for Real Madrid last year. Palacios is a 21 year old attacking midfielder who only made a handful of appearances for Real Madrid's first team last season. Both have been coached by Arbeloa on the Real Madrid youth squad.
I'm happy that Fulham has moved forward with some transfers, but like Arbeloa, there are a lot of unknowns here. Lots of potential, very little certainty.
Fulham’s transfer business is maddening. Losing money on Diop is just the tip of the iceberg. Considering that Fulham let 40% of their goals leave for free (Raul and Wilson) and the team’s top three all time record signings (Kevin, Smith Rowe and Bobb) aren’t even regular starters, I’m not sure you’ll find anyone who thinks Fulham is successful or even has a solid strategy when it comes to transfers. At least they appear to be making a couple of deals prior to deadline day this year.
It’s also a bit frustrating to see teams like Forest and Villa selling players for nine figures. They seem to realize that it is much better business to sell players to the big six teams rather than buy from them. No offense to ESR or Bobb, but I’m pretty sure they hit their ceiling when they were sold by Arsenal and Man City. Hopefully I’m wrong though.
I agree with astroevan, but I could get excited about Garcia, assuming he passes the medical. He's a top talent. I don't know enough about Palacios, but hope the hype real but also that he doesn't get in the way of Josh King's development.
One of the most annoying things about Marco Silva was his (non)utilization of our top-level academy. I'm still salty about Martial Godo (10 goals and 2 assists in 28 matches for Strasbourg last season). It seems Arbeloa is willing to give younger players a chance. Which also means that we may see some of our depth needs addressed internally, rather than in the transfer market.
Excellent points on Fulham's transfer business. There is certainly room for improvement. Despite the relative success of midtable finishes and some business successes with Mitro and Palhinha, I think Fulham's transfers on a whole have been sub par. I hope that Garcia isn't a record transfer because those guys have not delivered recently (still a chance for Kevin).
It will be interesting to see how things work out with Arbeloa's approach. Between his willingness to given younger players a shot and the more aggressive style of play he might use, I won't be surprised if we see big swings in performance this season. Under Marco in the PL, Fulham seldom got spanked, but also didn't win many matches with ease. I think we might see a lot more wins and losses by multiple goals. I hope it is a net positive, but I have no idea about that yet.
