Fulham heads to Brentford for the fourth and final West London derby of the season. The early Saturday kickoff is at 7:30am EDT on USA Network.
Could this be the last opportunity for Fulham to sing "Who put the ball in the Brentford net? Harry F@!*ing Wilson!"? He has had Brentford's number and it looks like he could move on at the end of this season. I don't expect much from the rest of Fulham's season, but oh how I'd love to see a victory thanks to Harry Wilson one more time!
As much as I want a Fulham win and a Wilson score, I'm feeling pretty down on Fulham coming into this one. Last week's performance against Liverpool was so flat that it is difficult to get enthusiastic about this match despite it being Fulham v. Brentford with just three points between them and both teams trying to qualify for Europe with six matches to play. I should be pumped, but I feel like the squad is already done with this season and thinking about summer and what might be.
I'd like to see Silva try to bounce back from last week with a bunch of changes. Tete will probably still be out, but I'd pull Andersen and Robinson for Diop and Sessegnon. Both Bobb and Chukwueze looked terrible last week, so I'd put Iwobi on the left with Smith-Rowe in the middle in front of Lukic and Berge (I never thought I'd ask for that combo). Up top I think it is time to go back to Raul. On the right though, nothing should change - get Wilson out there one more time.
From the beginning, I thought we came out with the goal of not losing, and maybe nicking something if we're lucky, rather than with a plan to win. And I'm not disappointed, as I think that only the away game at Arsenal is tougher on paper out of our remaining fixtures. Despite still sitting in 12th, I think we have a realistic chance for a European spot if we win our last 3 matches as we should. A point against Villa or Arsenal would then be bonus.
I'm only worried about Iwobi. Looks like he's probably out until the preseason. At least he doesn't have to worry about missing the world cup.
Will be cheering on Brighton later. I realize it's unkind, but I cannot help the glee the very thought of Tottenham going down brings me. I may be a bad person.
“Slow and predictable”. I agree with the announcer.
You know Fulham didn't create much when their highlights focused on a lofted cross that was easily collected by the keeper and a very badly miss-hit shot that was probably headed over the touch line rather than over the end line. Ooof. At least it wasn't a loss! It would be nice though to see someone do something before the end of the season. Without Iwobi though that just got a lot less likely.
