Blackburn's more healthy for him than Sunderland, at least.

Good on the lad. He belongs in the Prem.

Big Sam's alright, I guess. More defensive-minded than I prefer for a USMNT midfielder. But, if Sam can turn him into the next Kevin Davies-style midfielder, I'm for it.

Just be prepared not to see too much of him before next October or so.

Apparently Holden is getting a trial with Burnley.

Looks like Bolton is passing on Stuart Holden, but the Mirror is reporting that he is going to sign with Sporting Braga, who are currently tied for first place with Benfica in Portugal.

I don't know Braga's team that well to know if he would see playing time routinely or not.

Don't know that a move to the 1st place team in Liga Sagres is necessarily moving into a worse situation than Bolton. Would have preferred Benfica, and then them pulling Adu back from his loan. But the question will be the same, playing time??

Don't bet all your marbles on the Mirror report; even Ives is backpeddling some on the report.

I thought Holden was a free agent. How could he be a loaner?

Doesn't MLS still own your contract, even if it has expired or something?

Andy -- could you enlighten us?

He's an out of contract MLS player, which means that Houston owns his rights in MLS for the next two years, but is otherwise a "free agent."

Good for him. Although, Coyle will probably try to change the way Bolton plays, I would love for a USMNT player to learn how to 'kick the shit' out of the opposition at a top flight level.

Sounds like Coyle sees something in him and will give him a chance to compete. Whether that translates into meaningful playing time is anyone's guess.
