This is not meant to be a political thread, I am just wondering what everyone is paying for gas in your respective part of the country or world.

Here in Chicago, I am paying $3.69/gallon which seems to be the median for prices here in Chicago. Also, this is for regular gas. NOT Premium or Silver, but just normal gas.

What are the rest of you paying?

    RE: What

The last gas I bought here in SA was $2.69 -- that was on the 12th. The prices I saw yesterday while driving back from church ranged from $2.89 to $3.07.

I was in MN last week, and there's a running gag up there that prices always go up the day I leave [and fill the tank on my rental]. On Thursday they were around $3.17. When I filled up Friday lunch time I paid $3.39.

All of this for regular. Can't wait to hear from the other side of the pond!

I dont put in the absolute highest prices because I dont assume people are idiots.

that's 42 - 44 pence per litre. sounds really cheap when you say it that way.

Per Imperial Gallon? which is about 4.5 l / gal
as opposed to 3.78 l in US Gallon

    - - - - - -- - - - -
    40p at current exch rate =80c x 3.78 = $3.02

what was the exchange rate, then, Don?

    Re: RE: What

Shit I dunno, I am paying $1.22 CDN per litre.

I thought it was 4 litres to the US gallon, but I guess it is 3.79 litres.

So I am probably paying more like 4.36 USD per gallon.

Erm I'm slumping it on the Bus. Theres not a whole lot of up side to it but I do save some major $$$$.

$75 for a semester transit pass, about $0.40 a ride.

Echoing Spencer, God bless the [relatively inefficient] Caltrain and Bart. It has to be difficult for those that commute by car, and in the S.F. bay or greater L.A. areas where due to housing/living costs must live great distances from their place of employment, as they are most likely suffering the economic hit of fuel costs...

I filled up this weekend for $3.29 a gallon.

After I finish paying off this car in 5 years, I'm going for only hybrids. I wouldn't mind paying $45 per tank if I only had to fill up once a month.

It was around $3.25 in Colorado Springs this weekend. I've seen similar rates around here since I came back

    Gas at Speedway HQ: $1.51

We've resurrected this at Don's suggestion:

Gas is currently $1.51 at Speedway's home station; lowest since September here was $1.47 a week ago.
