book Once an Eagle, by Anton Myrer, it's on the Plebe reading list for West Point cadets, and it vividly paints how people are drawn to the military way of life, what kind of mindset makes the best leaders, and the main character has a foil throughout his whole career who is interested more in his own betterment and how to use his position for personal gain. I recommend it to any young man or woman, military or civilian.

recording artist Springsteen, hands down. I like his music as much at age 39 as I did when I was 15. It's comforting to know my teenaged mind picked an enduring winner, even if I don't agree with some of what he says now.

Sports team, American division The Pittsburgh Steelers. My Dad is a big fan, and they won 4 Super Bowls by the time I was 11 years old! When they won it again in 2005 I apprecfiated it a lot more. And I like their physical style of ball on the field, and how the Rooneys do business off the field

movies A few in no particular order -- Million Dollar Baby, Caddyshack (You'll get nothing and like it!!), Animal House, Breakfast at Tiffany's (Audrey Hepburn in her day was the most beautiful woman ever to grace a screen with her presence. Period), Saving Private Ryan, and Forrest Gump.

You're a man of sound judgement, infinite grace, and style. Ah, Miss Hepburn. If you're a fan of hers, you must rent Roman Holiday.

I own roman Holiday, and Sabrina. I first showed my son an Audrey movie when he was 10 days old. I hope I didn't wait too long.
