I will graciously make myself available for the team if they need a holding midfielder who is over 40, over 200lbs and not very fast. I can pass, trap, and I have been known to take a guy on every now and then.

I am sorry to say that based on the qualifications you have listed I will not be able to use your services for the upcoming qualifier against Barbados. I am afraid your skill set will not be useful in the tactical formation I am currently implementing.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Bradley

Yeah, god damn that obnoxious, arrogant 0.1% of the American population that blindly supports their national soccer team. Who do they think they are.

Huzzzzah! I have achieved annoying, obnoxious and arrogant! I had really only hoped to achieve one of those in my life time. I can now die fulfilled in my own self-indulgence.

I think I missed out on the transition to how the US supporters said that the US was better than Mexico within this topic. The US has been beating Mexico recently (aside from the most recent tie), but I am not sure where it was said that we were better than Mexico.

    Insight please.

Truth is, that was about the same size of crowd that showed up in Columbus in 2004, when we played Grenada in the same round of qualifiers. I think the fans start to show up when we get the final round. Of course, we sold out the stadium for the Mexico match in that round.

Here, I'll say it, USA is better than Mexico. Ten games without a loss seems to solidify that argument. Maybe Sven will change it, but ten games is ten games.

I just meant I was not sure where it was said in this thread. I was trying to figure out where the whole Mexico thing came into this discussion with regards to who is better. FFC24 seemed so aggravated, so I was trying to figure it out.

Technically, Mexico plays a better game, but we have their number right now. It goes with the whole saying that you can win games without being the best team. Look at Italy. Bunker in and counter. Their defense is not playing to what it was in the past, but we shall see - Spain will be a big hurdle. The U-21 team that played in Toulon looked pretty good all the way around.

I think that may be true in a game or two, but like I said, ten games is ten games and the US is better than Mexico. It hasn't been just friendlies either, for instance when USA defeated Mexico in the final of the 2007 concacaf gold cup. I don't think I have to convince you EricD, it's a certain someone else...

Oh please. I'm not talking about you lot. I'm talking about the average fan of USSoccer. It's pathetic. Here's an average conversation you can expect with an American idiot.

Me-"So you guys are better than Mexico?"

    US idiot-"Of course"

    Me-"Why?"

Us idiot-"We beat them in 2002!"

Me-"Is Poland better than the US?"

USI-"Only an idiot would ask that question."

me-"They beat the US in 2002 and according to your logic they must be better"

usi-"I see what you did there. Poland were lucky!"

    Me-"So was the US"

USI-"Well when was the last time Mexico beat the US inside America?"

Me-"When was the last time the US even won in Mexico?"

    USI-"Dude, you're not being fair!"

Me-"Why can't the great mighty US beat Mexico in Mexico City?"

    USI-"Um,UH,Long Pause...............Even longer pause................ALTITUDE!"

Me-"Has the US ever played a game in Denver and won?"

    USI-"Yes, so what?"

    Me-"Well why wasn't that unfair?"

    USI-"STFU!"

Believe it or not, I've had loads of conversations like this.

BUT according to American logic the World Cup counts. And this means that Poland is better. I'm sick and tired of hearing about that 2002 win. It was 6 years ago. I suppose the US is better than Portugal as well.
