    ToM, the first half was dreadful football by both teams. Guat diving and looking for cards the mf pair of Bradley/Pablo seemed to forget that we were were our road uniforms because they zeroed in on guys in white shirts.

    The second half was a chippy, violent 45 minutes still lacking in quality, but made up for in intensity.

    Ruiz hadn't been booked; he somehow got out of that match with a clean disciplinary record, despite smacking Pearce in the face, kicking Howard in the head, and taking at least two card-worthy dives.

    Don,
    I think Sanchez tried to kick EJ after the goal by Donovan. It was pretty dirty, and I was disappointed that he was not disciplined for it.

    Thanks for the clarification, Eric. I seem to remember Wynalda getting seriously fired up about it at the time. It definitely tempered my goal celebrations. I remember it being Beas, but I'm kinda old, as you can see by the picture with my granddaughter over here

    No worries man. I was not trying to get one up or anything. That was one thing that really pissed me off. Dirty Sanchez.

    I miss Wynalda on these telecasts of the USMNT as well as the Thursday night MLS games on ESPN2.

    No. It was EJ because the man Oswald went after was wearing #9. Check the slo-mo part of the video.

    GUATEMALA THOUGHT: They are a team that is very easy to hate. TFC, enjoy your asshole forward! May he be more useless than Jeff Cunningham!

    LASTLY: I think it was excellent that Guatemala clearly didn't scout Boca from his Fulham games. He scored the same way he scored for FFC a number of teams! Nobody expects the Charlie Blackmouth Header!
