EJ and Alan Gordon coming through at the last moments of the game...thank you.

Oh yeah, Jones will not be available to have another brain cramp.

But that does leave the door open for Beckerman. :?

Watching the match in Mellow Mushroom(great pizza place near my house that has DirectTV) and when we scored in 89th minute...of course, all the rest of the TVs are on the Yankees game, I let out a big yell and realize, I'm the only one in the place who cares about our beautiful game....It made me proud and sad all at the same time.

    P.S. Who is Alan Gordon?

I didn't see the game but I'm very happy to see ej was the one to get the goals. Happy for him because I know it's been a journey

HUGE result. Huge. Happy for EJ, tough to win on the road, no matter who, in international play. Watched the goals on youtube, great finishing by Eddie on both, with good service from Zusi and Gordon. Hope we can get better defending in KC next week and give ourselves a little breathing room.

    LET'S GO YANKS!

3 Points. I didn't see the match, but it sound as if the play was less than stellar by the US. Still, a win is brilliant - thank you EJ, Zusi and Gordon...

Plays for the San Jose Earthquakes. I'm not sure why he was selected over Chris Wondolowski, but can't argue with the nice pass to EJ for the game winner.

In the "this never happens" department, I got home last night and turned on ESPNEWS to see if there was a score on the scroll. Immediately I see the match report, all three goals, and the Useless Leprechaun yammering afterwards.

I don't remember Eddie being all that in the air in his Dallas/KC days. Is this a new feature of his game?
What was our starting back four?
Did we get any cards? [It looked like Bradley had had A-FRICKIN-NUFF on one of the highlights].

Screw Smyth. We went on the road in CONCACAF with a depleted squad and won 2-1 -- in a meaningful match. That's an accomplishment. I know we're weaker without Donovan. Stevie Wonder could see that, but a result is a result. Three off Guatemala and we've basically qualified for the hex without our most seasoned and successful campaigner.

Back four were: Dolo, Goodsen, Cameron, and Boca...not exactly the fastest back four in Concacaf. Johnson being back there again will help. Boca got burned on the A and B goal...didn't help Goodsen slid way before the ball got to Blackstock either.

I think the only one who got a yellow and will be out next match is Jones. It was an idiotic yellow too, so no surprise there.

I think Guat and the US both can advance with a draw. It will be interesting to see if both teams go for the win.

Jamaica needs to beat A&B, have a winner between USA and Guatemala, and they're currently behind both of those teams by 2 in goal differential.

The aerial prowess seems to be one several new facets to the Dude's game. He has been hammering headers home all season and he seems far more patient on the ball than he has ever been before. I truly thought EJ was the best player on the pitch for either side. Question is can he replicate that on a regular basis?

I want to say Taylor Twellman tweeted something like 7 or 8 of his 14 goals in MLS play have come via his head this year.

Sorry, but this result is pretty bad. We should be able to go into places like this and blow the other team away by at least a couple of goals. The only good thing about this win was the fact that EJ played so well.

Not a great performance, but on a crap field, in crap weather, with a make shift back 4, there a lot more positives than negatives. Have to give A&B a little credit, the guy who scored has scored a lot of goals for Nottingham Forest, many others sprinkled throughout England, and the rest all play on the same team in the NASL.

Thx for the info. With being a contractor, having 2 teenagers into stuff other than futbol, being addicted to golf, and the Premier League...and living in a non-MLS city, I have to admit our professional league is out of my loop right now...

So what are the scenarios for the USMNT to go through if we draw Tuesday?

Win or draw seal the deal. If they lose, they still can go through with a Jamaica loss or if Jamaica win but still can't make up the 3 goal differential.

    current group standings:

    Total Form H2H
    # Team GP W T L GF GA DIFF PTS Last 5 matches
