So what is the line up with most of the wide regulars not available.

I'm guessing Zusi will be given another shot out wide.

Possibly Kljestan (although I would rather see him play in the middle when/if he plays)?

I'm guessing you could put in Castillo at LB and move Johnson to midfield and Zusi on right? Should be good enough against both Guat and A&B.

My main beef with Klinsmann is not replacing players with back-ups when there are injuries. What's the point of having back-ups? Why not give fringe players a life-line? Doesn't seem like there is much to lose by calling them in and a lot to gain just in case of another injury.

Every call up of his has had some sort of issue. The press was reporting these guys as injured before he even called them up. This is a WQ qualifier, not a friendly, these players need to be replaced with back-ups.

Just four months ago Klinsmann was complaining about AZ not releasing Jozy for international duty and now he drops him, one of the hottest goal scorers in the world, to make some sort of point. It makes no sense. He had a whole year to make a point with Jozy. If you ask me it's because the press has started calling Klinsmann out on the fact that Jozy doesnt score for him, and since he obviously plans to go once again with three def mids that is not going to change now. Jozy has played in the US's last 17 WC qualifiers. The next longest active streak for a US players is four, and that is the guy you decide to drop? Klinsmann has also had more than a year to get some sort of settled roster and he is still experimenting.

Now he says he called in EJ and Gordon because they are really good in the air and we will need an aerial game on A&B's poor pitch. Well the pitch in Jamaica was "bumpy in the middle" - his words- and yet Klinsmann did not employ and aerial game as evidenced by the fact that only one cross was put into the box the entire match. It appears our soccer Jesus is learning soccer coaching 101 on the job. :angry-banghead: Jamaica tied A&B 0-0, Guatemala only scored one goal there. It is not going to be easy, but I know Klinsmann will go in there over confident again and when we dont win, he will blame it on the players and the poor soccer system in the US.

    Well, I'm at a loss as to predicting a line-up against A&B.

    But there is this:

    Not exactly ideal.

And, oh, while we're ranting, how do you leave a 4 time MLS player of the week this season (including 2 of the last 3), Wondo, off?

There'll be hell to pay if we fail...

There are two spots, even if Boca gets moved out there, get someone on a plane immediately aka Lichaj or Spector for cover.

God forbid if the US have to win and Guatemala advances with a draw in the final match. The diving, rolling around hurt, and additional time wasting will start with the pre game handshake.

When do you know when your team is going through a rough patch? When you're nervous about at a game against Antigua & Barbuda

In lieu of it being Friday the...Twelfth??? Hope the squad takes on the killer persona of :character-jason: (btw, isn't it Leatherface w/the chainsaw? Jason is more of a machete, pitchfork kind of guy)

Jokes aside, just win the damn game.

P.S. Have fun in Houston, Mo!

Also, they're predicting a very windy game, add that to a poor field and anything can happen. They'll have loud crowd albeit in cricket stadium, so at least the ref might not have to feel like he has to make hometown calls with booing fans right on top of him? But it is Concacaf, so I fully expect wildly inconsistent calls no matter what. Ugh...not having good vibes about coming into this game with the team less than 100%.

I'll be hanging out in the chat while watching the game. Doesn't seem to be too bad weather wise...but what a small field.
