Anyone notice Dempsey was the only one who didnt have his hand over his heart during the national anthem.

Boca not having the best of games currently and was the one 'marking' Terry.

    Cherundolo looking good though.

Are you sure it wasnt Dempsey marking Terry? I found it hard to tell but should probably be looking at half-time replays right now. Also did Howard react kind of late to that header? It was well placed so it may not have made a difference but he seemed slow to me.

    Go Yanks!!!!!

Beckham showing he is still a valuable weapon

Wolff and Johnson up top? No wonder we have no shots on goal. And I'm not sold on Clark at all. I know all these players are not all available, but Wolff, Johson, and Clark need to be replaced by Jozy, Landycakes, and Adu in the future.

Wow - totally dominated. The visitors were lucky that was only 2-0.

    What's up with the Brits:

    a. doing the wave? They must not know what to do when they can't boo their own players.

    b. picking Garrard for MOM. Owen Hargreaves completely bossed the midfield and cut out the flow to our forward line.

Johnson didn't have a bad match considering his service, how he held and distributed, and how he took his ONE chance. I see promise.

It felt pretty uninspiring to me. I am bummed that the team came out so flat. We pass back way too much. Where is the attack? EJ had one good shot, well, the whole team had one good shot - that shot. It seemed like the one player willing to take people on and try something was Eddie Lewis. I thought England was toying with us at the end. Maybe our guys got some autographs after the game. I think we are in real trouble against Spain and Argentina.

I think I knew what was going to happen when I saw that Bradley started Clark again. I have no idea what he sees in this guy. He is really terrible. He waited 78 minutes to sub Edu in for Clark. I am not sure if you guys see how much better Feilhaber plays with Bradley compared with the other CMs on the roster. It seems like Bradley looks so much better with Benny too. I would be bummed if I was Bradley because this was sort of an EPL look at him. The only other guy I can think of that would make it interesting with some creativity is Klestjan.

Overall, I do not get it. What is our style? Is it slow the game down and try to maintain possession by passing it back then boot it down the field for a 50/50 ball to a non McBride type target?

This team is driving me nuts. I am depressed.

Oh yeah, then top off this wonderful US performance with the news line on the bottom of the TV telling us that McBride is leaving FFC.

At Wembley against England's strongest lineup (or at least their most established players) in the (if I'm not mistaken) first game under a new coach, I'm not surprised and I wouldn't panic or read too much into it.

How did Dempsey look? From the lineup it seems like Bradley played him in right midfield again.

How did Official Man-Crush Of HatterDon Heath Pearce do with Beckham?

I just got the dis-pleasure of watching one of the most embarrassing 90 minutes I think I have seen from the USMNT.

We couldnt muster any recognizable attack on a terrible England side that couldnt qualify for the Euros.

No creativity, total lack of possession, no connection or transition, two forwards that I dont think completed a single pass to each other - Both of them turning and running! How many times did we send balls to space and there was not a player within 30 yards of the ball send thru.

    Horrible!

I am sorry to just keep going on and on, but I have this terrible feeling. We are terrible. This was just an extension of what we saw at the world cup! A team with NO teeth. There is nothing there in the attack. It is like we dont know what to do. Where is the creativity? Where is the desire to get forward? Why are our forwards not staying connected and working together to get thru? What is up with the boot ball when we are sending balls forward to Johnson and Wolf - neither of which has done ANYTHING to show that they deserve to play up there!

Our system is broken. That is the bottom line. There is something very wrong with the identification of talent, and then the training of players. We are taking pages out of the playbook of countries that fail in international competition and it...

    Makes me sick!

I spent the 90 minutes screaming at the TV and trying to keep from swearing in front of my kids. The USMNT represents all of us - and today - they did a very poor job.

We'll still backwards when it comes to soccer. Not too big a deal. We'll turn the Redcoats over at the Beijing Olympics in the medal count.

I though Pearce played well and that Dempsey and Lewis had a few bright moments. Wolff did not belong on the same pitch as everyone else today and Bradley waited way to long to sub in Adu, Lewis and Edu.

I was most disappointed in our free kick service. Just horrid!
