I've just read that the US is 0-7 in the 3rd game of group play. Let's break that streak tomorrow!

    Please?

Yeah, I've had a bad feeling about this one. I'd be less surprised to see us draw and go through with an England draw than I'd be if we won. The Confed Cup performance (and the 2nd half against Slov) gives me hope that we can turn it on though.

Before the tourney began, I figured our best would be 4 points

0 vs England [+1 so far]
    1 vs Slovenia [still +1]
3 vs Algeria [waiting until tomorrow morning to see]

I think we match up very well with Algeria. We need to make their fullbacks defend. If we don't use the wings, they'll kill us.

the thing is, that's what I was worried about with England, and Cherundolo so screwed up their heads that their fullbacks never featured -- and Cole and Johnson are streets better than Belhadj and whoever.

And, senator, as a History major, I can tell you that history is just a bunch of shit that's already happened. Our 0-7 means just as much as how seldom a previous finalist doesn't make it out of the next tournament's group stage.

I have gone from cautiously optimistic on this match, to filled with dread, and finally, to upbeat and positive. We win this one 2-1, or perhaps 3-1 when they go balls to the wall for the equalizer -- and THEN we get creamed by Germany!

Hate to even think about it at this point, but this will be difficult, since we will be playing Serbia....which might be worse.

Speaking of who plays who, anyone else check out who is leading the Fantasy World Cup for FUSA??

None other, than that little gal in the Nation's Capital. That lady knows her footy!

We're going to make it through to the group stages somehow. I am not sure how, but we'll make it into the knock out stage.

if at the very least because Calamity James blunders in an own goal. But I'm thinking because we are going to put together a more complete game for the first time in a long time.

Bornstein to start? Gooch on the Bench. An unconfirmed resource just wispered this in my ear. Checking it out.

Boca in CB for Gooch.. okay, but Bornstein to replace him!!!

Edu starts, but Gomez instead of Buddle up front
    .....
Bob Bradley is our coach.. we must believe

Since ALG is widely recognized to have no real strike force AND it's a good idea to give Gooch a little regroup time, isnt now a good time rather than to ride the horse into the ground?

U.S. getting screwed by refs. Jesus. We'd have won the group if the refs called the game correctly.

Well.. we getting chances. Showing we're better team. Still no style points posted, though

We're reacting well to the counter and just failing at end.
Demps looking good but with bad luck
