Note, folks. That's not a bad idea, essentially says he'll go without pay in 2013. He wont be there in 2013, one way or the other.

The stupidity that got him there is what still rankles.

well, sorta; the fact that he still has the same agent that steered him to AC in the first place REALLY rankles.

When he's at fault for a goal in the Coppa Italia (like he'll ever get in a Serie A match  ) All he'll hear from the AC fans is he's still overpaid (what's per diem in Italian?).

**Do you think the agent was smart enough to put in the new deal that if they sell him his new club would actually have to give him a salary??

That was my thought, at first glance. I concluded, "SURELY, he did.."

I was kinda hoping for a spot in the 30 for Freddy. He brings a creative spark (and I know all too well of the defensive liability) that a lot of our players do not possess. I am not sure what Sacha or Robbie Rogers have done, although I have not really watched them lately.
I hope Buddle translates his game to the international level and not completely lose everything we have seen to this point like Cunningham and Findley (more the latter) when given the chance.
I would consider putting Edu in the central defense if we have an injury issue. The possession out of the back would be better, and he has the physical tools. I doubt that would happen though.
I really hope we come out better than the game against the Czechs in 2006.

And what does Sir Alex have to say about the U.S.'s World Cup prospects: they should advance.

"It's a hard game for them to start with, because England are very, very motivated under Capello. Capello is a really outstanding coach," he said. "If they can survive after that ... I think they will qualify."

    Also, SAF complimented:

"They've proved themselves in previous World Cups. With Donovan and Dempsey, they've got some experience. They've been there before. It's not as if it's new to them," he said. "So I don't think they will be overawed by anything, or the atmosphere of the World Cup or the importance of the World Cup or the intensity. I think that will be easy for them."

He [SAF] called Donovan's time with Everton "absolutely outstanding" and said Dempsey "has had a great season in England this year."

Interestingly, he's the guy who came up with the expression "that American thing" when discussing our players -- including the ones that had time at ManU [Spector, Cooper, Rossi, etc.]. In his eyes, "that American thing" refers to Americans' willingness to work hard, stay in shape, being eminently coachable, and putting the team first.

I've been going back and forth between thinking that this is a straight up compliment or one of the left-handed variety -- i.e. we'll always be good citizens and hard workers, but we don't have the individual selfishness to produce a Christiano Ronaldo. Regardless of how you interpret that, we have produced only one player totally immersed in what's best for the team and still able to pull out a bit of individual magic, and that's our Clint.

Don, Landon meets that description too. And while I agree that Clint is always totally immersed in his Fulham team, the same has not always been true for the US. He has said as much himself and during the Confed Cup (prior to Egypt) Bradley had to talk with him about it.

Also, I did not witness enough of McBrides career but can you seriously say he didnt make moments of magic? I can look at youtube videos and I think that I see some magic. He did single-handedly turn me on to soccer so I must ask the ?

09-10 Landon maybe, but not so much before that. He's matured a lot as a professional in the past year.

Re Dempsey, the US play a lot of fairly meaningless games. Fulham, less so. The difference is, when Fulham does, Roy doesn't send out the first team. Deuce has stepped up as much or more than anyone we've got on the big stage. So if he sandbags one at T&T, when battling injuries and in dire need of a rest, I can overlook it.
