Despite a gallant effort, Atletico finally ran out of gas against a "classier" opponent. Cruel game sometimes. Still, a remarkable turnaround from their recent form. And they did win the league...so they've got that going for them, which is nice.

And if I were Vincente del Bosque, I'd be rethinking my goalkeeper options after that very questionable performance by Iker Casillas. He made some serious hash out of the opener, and darn near did again on a lumper into his box. I kept thinking how ironic that he got to hoist the big ears first by virtue of being captain after nearly single handedly costing his side the chance at it. Pepe Reina or David de Gea anybody?
