Bruce Arena is a professional.. on tv he sounds like an idiot.

TV is full of 'color guys' who think they are either the next Don Meredith or John Madden.

Waldo isnt one of them.. he could be both.

You know, at times I prefer the British announcers who don't say much during the match. You know the ones---you hear nothing for a minute and then "Bocanegara...Routledge...McBride..." as the ball gets passed around. They let you watch the game without all the chatter. It seems like US announcers, especially in soccer, feel the need to chat endlessly throughout the match. And sometimes you pick up good tidbits of information but other times, I wish they'd pipe down a bit. Whatever.

The US needs strikers. We need guys who will go at the defence and shoot. I agree with Bruce Arena when he said "real strikers don't pass in the box". I think Eddie Johnson has that potential but he needs to be more confident and agressive. Aside from him, we have no true scorer up front. Until we do, we have a tougher time winning the big matches.

As for our defence, yeah they looked iffy at times against Ecuador. But we have very talented individuals back there. They just need to gel together. It will happen.

I feel that Taylor Twellman deserves a chance to be the other striker with Johnson! I feel that Arena should have put Twellman on the national team over Ching for the 06 World Cup. I believe in the few games leading up to the decision of the roster for the 06 World Cup Twellman scored a goal in every match he played in. I think Twellman could be the spark the US forwards need. However with Donovan's recent hat trick who knows where to place him. Donovan may have just showed he is the United States's lone striker.

I agree with Petty -- 1631 CDT, 3-28-07 -- we had three color announcers doing the match and one of them was colorless.

I frightened the neighbors several times -- especially in the first half -- shouting "Whose got the @%&@!%( ball" while they were all talking about Feilhaber.
