If that picture is accurate, not even sure Mike if this would qualify as terracing! I've been on a terrace in Ireland (Bohemians) at least it had a slight upward slant to it. This will be much more intimate. Two words come to mind 'old school'.

You know it is going to be a physical battle on a crap pitch with rabid supporters right on top of things.

Weather the storm, deal with the conditions - be professionals.

Shouldnt be a problem. An early goal would be a dream, but knowing Roy, I am sure he will have them be careful about exposing themselves early in an effort to push forward.

Who knows, maybe Jimmy leaving will fire the team up a bit tomorrow. They may enter the match with a bit of a chip on their shoulder.

I am asking for a favor from the board. This week has been crazy -- my wife's grandmother passed on Sunday -- she was 84 and things had really started to fail on her, she's in a better place.

In-laws and well-wishers have been in and out of the casa de Steve all week, and I have in-laws coming in from Chicago in about 2 hours. Calling hours are tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. Fulham, GJ, and FSC will not be happening for me. If anyone is technologically studly enough to be able to make a DVD of the game, I would consider it a personal favor. Please PM me and we'll work out details (cost) offline. Thanks all.

Here's SOCCERNET's preview. I've never seen one so long-winded:

Kettering captain Guy Branston will miss the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Fulham. The defender was sent off for two bookable offences during Tuesday's Setanta Shield quarter-final at AFC Telford and must serve a one-match ban. The captaincy therefore should shift to his defensive partner John Dempster with Exodus Geohaghon coming into the back four.

Defender Tommy Jaszczun will be pushing for a starting place having returned to fitness following a calf injury while midfielder Brett Solkhon could also be in contention with his hamstring responded well to treatment.

Manager Mark Cooper faces a selection dilemma at right-back with Nicky Eaden and Dale Bennett both vying for the chance to face the Premier League side.

Striker Jason Lee is cup-tied while fellow frontman Nathan Smith remains a long-term injury victim with a broken foot.

Fulham travel without Jimmy Bullard after the midfielder signed for Hull.

Manager Roy Hodgson has no fresh injuries to contend with against the Conference outfit.

Andranik Teymourian (knee) is gaining match fitness in the reserves but Diomansy Kamara (knee) remains in the treatment room.

Hodgson has revealed Bullard's contract demands left Fulham with no option but to sell the England squad midfielder to Hull. Bullard joined Fulham`s Barclays Premier League rivals for a fee believed to be £5million, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract. Fulham were reluctant to offload the 30-year-old, who had 18 months left on his existing deal, but refused to cave in to his wage demands.

Having doubled their money on the player signed from Wigan for £2.5million in May 2006, Hodgson admitted the decision was driven by economics. "It's too easy for fans to say the club should have done more to keep Jimmy,'' he said. "People at the top of the club have to make nuanced decisions. They have to look at the wider picture every time there are wage demands or new contract demands. We were very fair when it came to Jimmy and we did what we thought was right but we accepted the road he wanted to go down was not where we wanted to go.

"It wasn't just about his wage demands, it was about the length of contract as well. He wanted a long-term contract. I was rather hoping there wouldn't be anyone else out there who would give it to him either. Hull came up with the package he was looking for. It's up to us to prove we can be a good team without him.''

Bullard, who suffered a career-threatening knee injury that kept him out for 16 months just four matches into his Fulham career, was a popular figure at Craven Cottage. Fans appreciated his all-action style while team-mates often spoke of his influence in the dressing room and he was called into the England squad, but Hodgson insisted the club would cope with his departure.

"Cult heroes tend to come and go these days. These days there are panic reactions to players,'' he said. "People say clubs can't exist without certain players. But with all due respect to Jimmy he only played the one full year at the club because of injury. I understand the fans aren't happy that a player they appreciate is leaving the club. They'll have to understand we're not happy about it either, but for the good of the club the right decision was made. Had we conceded to his wage demands it would have created problems for us.''

Bullard's imminent departure overshadowed preparations for the FA Cup trip.

Blue Square Premier outfit Kettering are the lowest-placed side still left in the competition and Hodgson is aware that the tie has all the hallmarks of a potential upset.

"It's a great chance for us to get into the last 16 and a great chance for them to produce one of the FA Cup's great shocks,'' he said. "They could produce a giant-killing act that will live in the annals for a long time. That really sets the scene. We know it will be a difficult game and have had them watched on four or five occasions, so we know as much about them as we can know.''

I don't know if Kettering fans read this, but if I were one of them I'd be pissed about the fact that there was more about a Hull City player than about their entire side.

Somebody's parents really, REALLY liked the early era of thrash metal!

But seriously, this game is on the road. As always, I'll just take a win. 1-0, 2-1, 6-5, whatever. This team has some kind of mental block on the road and while they did it in Sheffield last round, the road is always a concern in my mind. Just play smart soccer, don't let up on them just because they are Kettering, and hopefully it'll all turn out all right for Fulham. Remember, there's only one W in Whites.
