I brought this up in a campaign thread about Biden.

Who among recent candidates would be good banter partners at your bar during happy hour? It aint a contest.

I {and Don, of course} can go way back.

    LBJ - Hell YES!
    Humphrey - Dunno, probably
Nixon - Probably not - stiff
    Agnew - HELL YES!
Ford - Maybe, had good sense of humor
    Carter - uh.. no!
Mondale - maybe, read his eyes. Maybe party animal
    Reagan - yes
Bush41- probably but dunno, maybe if Barbara was with him
    Ferraro - Oh, yeah!
Dukakis - not unless someone knows something I dont
Bill Clinton - Definitely. If it was a stag bar
Al Gore - sheesh! "Where's Tipper, Al?"
Dubya - probably, 'cept he's on the wagon.
Kerry - "Hey barkeep, turn on the Bullshit-o-meter"
Edwards - Nope! Ever been in a bar with a torts lawyer?
Hillary - Would'a said no, previous to this campaign. Yes, now!
    Obama - yes
    Biden - hell, yes
    McCain - Yes
Palin - Still unknown. But since she seems to gather friends like honey, probably. Cant get as far this quick without some sense of humor. 'Aint packing heat, are youy, Sarah?'

While he wasn't a presidential candidate, I did have the opportunity to have a beer with my old home town senator (the infamous "Good Time" Charlie Wilson) and he'd probably top my list. Quite possibly the most engaging, fascinating and entertaining person I've met, despite his short-comings.

    As for the current crop:
    Biden - no brainer
Palin - attractive woman who likes guns? absolutely.
Obama - only if his 1/2 of the conversation is scripted. the few clips i've seen of him speaking off the cuff have been underwhelming.
McCain - no. beer's enough of a depressant. i fear his personality would put me to sleep.

I would agree with you on all counts except I think if you got McCain talking, he can be engaging. He used to be a frequent guest on 'Imus in the morning' and though I haven't listen to the show in quite some time, I used to listen to the show regularly and McCain seemed a pretty decent guy and occassionally actually funny.

this is a pretty lame thread, 'fog, but it is significantly more tasteful than you're linked MILF photo of Governor Palin. But then again, what wouldn't be?

Of course it's lame... it's supposed to be lame.
Anythig Goes.. 'Golden Lion'.. happy hour... get it?

Just realized I forgot Cheney.. but I already used the 'packing heat' snark on Sarah'cuda.

On Palin? By FAR that wasnt the worst. It's not even MY worst/most tasteless post today.

Heck, I could even make something really tasteless out of this:
