Actually Slovenia's group was one of the weakest groups in the qualifying round. Czech Republic isn't that good anymore and Poland looked like crap all qualifying round. Koren is their playmaker, which isn't saying much.

Algeria has a couple of players who played in the premier league. They are Hameur Bouazza and Mahjid Bougherra. We all know how shit bouazza is, but Bougherra isn't half bad. Algeria also didn't have a huge team in their qualifying group which certainly helped.

This is an easy draw and anything less than 6 points should be talked about as a complete and utter disaster in US Soccer history.

You're mistaken, my friend -- only if someone posts a link to one of their articles and I am unaware of it do I ever read them. I get what you are saying though.

Martin-in-Nashville, I didn't see anybody saying that the USA is going to win the World Cup, although you wish us luck if we believe that. Personally, I believe England will win it if they can find a keeper who is as good as our 5th or 6th choice.

Having said that, just because I believe England will win doesn't mean that I think that the USA can't give them a good match.

Typical English response of making Yanks out to think they are full of pie-in-the-sky, overblown and unrealistic expectations. We'll see alot more of this type of misinformation being provided by the Tea-Sippers throughout the next 6 months.

A blogger on Big Soccer has gotten the England-USA smack talking started.

Algeria plays a 3-5-2. It seems there was a thread debating the utility/suckiness of this formation recently...

"Such strength has led manager Rabah Saadane to employ a 3-5-2, although it will be interesting to see how a pacy player like Donovan will be able to exploit the inevitable gaps that appear out wide in such a system." - ESPN

    Dear Santa -

I will take getting out of our group and a win in the first round, but I would be much happier with all that AND a Win over England.

I have been pretty good this year.

Here are some renderings of the rumored new kit that will be revealed in January (I believe). Is US soccer listening to Whitesbhoy? I like them, only I would prefer a more vintage appearance in terms of the choice of red and blue shades and the trim
