Ok. Had to do it again. Let me just say this. The first time I did it, the US had a brutal draw. The second time, as tough if not worse. Here it is:

    Group A-------Group B---------Group C---------Group D
    South Africa----Argentina--------England----------Brazil
    South Korea-----North Korea----New Zealand----Australia
    Uruguay---------Algeria----------Cameroon-------Ivory Coast
    Switzerland------Portugal---------Slovakia--------Denmark

    Group E-------Group F-------Group G------Group H
    Germany-------Spain---------Italy--------- Netherlands
    Honduras-------Japan---------Mexico-------USA
    Chile------------Nigeria--------Ghana--------Paraguay
    Slovenia--------Greece--------Serbia--------France

The US is definitely in the Group of Death. Group A is the weakest group and Switzerland have to like their chances. How bout France and Netherlands in th same group after flopping pots? Under this scenario, what about a possible England vs Porgugal meeting in the quarterfinal? Think Rooney would stamp on Ronaldo this time? How about a possible Italy vs France rematch in the Round of 16? A Brazil / Argentina quarterfinal matchup? Spain and Brazil in one semi-final (which would be like a Final), and Italy or France against England in the other? Think the Ivory Coast could pull a shocker and get by England to make the semis?

I think if the USA gets in a group like this we are in trouble

ps. I've had to edit this damn thing a million times.

    Uhhhh... Duh.

Yeah - ok - I still have time.. Here is the draw:

    SA
    USA
    Greece
    Uraguay

There is no way I am doing the whole thing. There must be a website out there where you can do a fake draw and have it come out correctly.

As we speak they are warming up the balls so they can draw the ultimate group of death for the US (and insure certain teams advance). I say bring it on. They will make sure we lose anyway so it might as well be to good teams.

England - USA , beginning of the group of death.

That gives me at least some hope we'll be treated fairly

I like it. And I like our chances of advancing better than Mexico's, honestly.

You don't get how Argentina should be seeded and not the United States? What?

All things considered, the draw was pretty good for the U.S.

    RE: Re: The Draw

Those were supposed to be 2 statements not related, but it doesnt read that way...

    Like:

    1st Statement:
    USA didnt get a seed.

    2nd Statement:
I am surprised that Argentina did get a seed because they have been crap for some time and they are lead by a fool and touted by an even larger group of fools called FIFA.

Easy group and that's the problem. The US will expect to escape the group quite easily which means that a team like Slovenia can sneak up and beat them. The England game is HUGE as its likely to decide who wins the group. 9 points is possible.

Awesome draw....I predict the England game will be the most watched futbal match in US history.

Wow! This is soooooooooooo much better than 2006's Italy Ghana and Czech Republic. All we need now is a defense and a forward line, and we're in great shape!

Not to mention a midfield that can maintain possession while attempting to break down one defensive nation (Algeria) and one extremely well organized nation (Slovenia)!!!

    Piece of cake then.

In honour of our draw, we should have kits that look like Revolutionary soldiers.

Advice to our front line and midfield, shoot before you can see the whites of their eyes!
