It's becoming apparent that we're a buy high, loan type club. Have we sold any of our recent signings?

I'm all for this too, someone posted on twitter that both Pringle and Cairney were top 10 in chances created in the Champ last season. Would love to see that kind of creativity and spark in a Fulham team. My only concern in signing another midfielder is that it might limit apps for LVC and Hyndman, but at this point, I won't complain about signing proven players.

Yes, Virginia, Tom Cairney is a Fulham player.

I don't care if he looks like a cross between Angel Di Maria and Franck Ribery. If he can play and help us win some bloody games of football, he can be the Beebs's stunt double for all I care.

Every good team needs a pretty boy. I meant it as a compliment.

Good signing. Young, experienced at this level with room for growth. Our midfield stunk last year, so the more competition for places the better. The cream will rise.

No one merited a guaranteed starting spot on the back of last season (aside from Betts, maybe), so keep 'em coming Fulham.

    Agreed Aggie.

The team's defending stunk most of all. It's nice to add some playmakers and wingers to the midfield. But if the team still can't defend this season, we're still looking at a mid-table to bottom finish.

It takes more than 5 men to defend though. I'd argue our midfield was as responsible for our porous defending as the back four, possibly moreso.

Fulham are making sensible moves. What is going on? I think I'm suffering vertigo.

Via CCN, circle Pringle & now Cairney.

Not disagreeing with you. It's just I am not seeing too much of a boost in the defending department with these signings. It seems Fulham are going after midfielders who create chances, which is good. But how well do they defend and read the other team?

Good point. However linking to the forwards through the midfield was a weakness last year, so any increased, meaningful possession is less time spent on defense. More importantly, improvement in this area should lead to more opposition attacks starting in their own end and not our side of the pitch.

Agree that I'd like to see an upgrade at cdm and I'm curious to see if we go big after wingers to get away from the narrower diamond formation that left our fb's exposed.

I was not casting aspersions on your characterization of young Cairney, Chi-town. I hope he's pretty and the next Messi. Or Pirlo. Or name your favorite footy hero. And I'm glad we have him.

I hope to see some more defensive signings over the next few weeks, but we have to find some kind of attacking midfield replacement for Ruiz. We lacked that last year and when he was out we were far weaker. So although the D was bad, we couldn't win anything without someone running the show in the middle.

I should point out that it is VERY early in the transfer season. We don't want to get so impatient that a casual observer thinks we're a bunch of Brits.

Great point HD. Having three good signings before July is good business. Also, judging by the amount of rumors about players we've enquired about or made offers for, we're really looking to get our business done early.

With an unsigned Jamie O'Hara participating. Hmmm.

Is that the guy in photo 16 and 31? If so, how can he train with us without signing? Or has he? So confused! o_O
