Fulham manager Martin Jol is looking for one or two additions to his squad before the end of the transfer window at 11pm on Friday.

FC Twente star, Douglas, is one that has been linked with the Whites and Charlie Adam has also been rumoured to be a target, albeit as a part exchange for Liverpool target Clint Dempsey.

“We never talk about names but we certainly hope to get one or two,” Jol said.

So far this summer, the Whites have signed Mladen Petric, Hugo Rodallega and Sascha Riether as Jol has revamped his squad.

FC Twente revealed last week that they were in disucussions with Fulham and Newcastle over the transfer of centre back Douglas.

The 24-year-old Brazilian-born stopper has only one year left on his contract at the Dutch side and chairman Joop Munsterman will let his star go for the right price.

“Both clubs [Fulham & Newcastle] told us they want to do business with us,” he told Voetbal International .

“We didn’t received any offers yet, but when they want to pay a fair price, Douglas may leave the club. Because otherwise he will leave Twente for free next year.”

Sky Sports sources understand Fulham are emerging as the favourites to lure Kieran Richardson back to London.

The Greenwich-born former West Ham United youth-team member wants a return to the capital for family reasons after five years in the North East with Sunderland.
Richardson, 27, has just one year remaining on his existing contract and Martin O'Neill has reluctantly accepted he is likely to depart before Friday night's transfer deadline.

Queens Park Rangers, Everton, Reading and West Ham have all been linked with the versatile player this summer as the speculation over his future has rapidly grown.

However, Martin Jol's admiration of the former Manchester United man has put the Cottagers in pole position to claim his signature.

But a deal to take Richardson to West London is not moving as swiftly as Jol would like as Fulhamstruggle to raise the cash.

As the transfer window finally reaches its more frantic end, Fulham are reported to lead the chase for Sunderland's versatile Kieran Richardson while Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, has confirmed that offers have been received from England for Bafetimbi Gomis, with Fulham likely to be one of them.

Sky Sports News have suggested that Richardson, a full-back-cum-winger on Wearside, is keen to return to London, where he once played for West Ham United, for family reasons. He's been at Sunderland for five years now but, despite enjoying a good working relationship with all his managers and impressing in the meantime, he is eager to leave. Martin O'Neill, although loathe to lose Richardson, will not step in his way.

This leaves the door firmly open to Jol, who is thought to be a keen admirer of the former England international, but Sky have also stressed that Fulham are currently failing to stump up the required transfer fee.

Meanwhile, the president of Lyon has confirmed that Bafetimbi Gomis has received offers from the British isles, with Fulham being heavily linked to his services.

The striker has scored 36 goals in his time with Lyon, and has attracted an array of interest in his time in Ligue 1. He refused a move to Rubin Kazan last July but moving away from France seems more likely this year.

"There are concrete proposals from several clubs across the Channel," said Aulas.

Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis could move to the Premier League before the close of the transfer window after Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed he has received offers.

Gomis has scored 36 goals in Ligue 1 for Lyon since joining from St Etienne three years ago, but could head to England before Friday's deadline.

Fulham have been strongly linked with a bid for the France international, but Lyon president Aulas did not disclose the identity of Gomis' admirers.

"There are concrete proposals from several clubs across the Channel," said Aulas at a press conference.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol is reported to be in the market for a new striker before the transfer window shuts after losing Pavel Pogrebnyak and Andrew Johnson over the summer.

With doubts over the future of Clint Dempsey, attacking reinforcements could arrive before the deadline and Fulham are also reported to have watched Evian forward Yannick Sagbo.
Gomis had the option of leaving Lyon back in July after the club accepted an offer, reported to be from Rubin Kazan, but the player decided to stay at Stade Gerland.

The agents of Douglas insist they are not negotiating with Fulham and the defender is happy at Twente.

Reports last month suggested that Fulham and West Ham United had both made offers for the Brazilian defender, who can leave on a Bosman next summer, while Newcastle were also thought to have made a bid.

However Rodrigo da Silveira from MP9 Sports, who is the right hand man of Douglas' agent Marcos Paulo Ribeiro, insists they are not negotiating with the Cottagers.

He told Dutch paper De Telegraaf: "We are not in London and won't go to London. We are with Douglas in Enschede and are not negotiating with Fulham.

"On Thursday Douglas will play against Bursaspor. Douglas is very happy at FC Twente and wanted to remain there this season."

Transfer news: Douglas Costa could be on his way to London

Tottenham and Fulham are interested in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Douglas Costa, but no bids have been received.

The 21-year-old’s agent, Cesar Bottega, claims that head coach Andre Villas-Boas is an admirer of the Brazilian, who has attracted interest from Italy as well.

“Villas-Boas appreciates Douglas Costa’s qualities, although we have not received any official offer,” Bottega told calciomercato.it.

The agent feels that his client he may be out of the Fulham’s price range, although they may choose to spend the fee received from Spurs for Mousa Dembele.

The agent added: “The club is not a great possibility economically, given we know the player’s evaluation is around €18million (£14.3m).”

The 25-year-old midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at Upton Park and is yet to sign an extension.

The Hammers will be keen to put fresh terms to a product of their famed academy system, but as yet no agreement has been put in place.

Fulham have decided to test the water and have made contact with their Premier League rivals regarding a possible deal.

Noble is a proven top-flight performer and was instrumental in guiding West Ham to promotion last season.

As an East End native he has strong ties to the Hammers and has made over 200 senior appearances for the club.

He has started both of West Ham's Premier League fixtures so far this season, but it remains to be seen how hard Fulham push to bring in a man who would help to fill the void created by Moussa Dembele's proposed switch to Tottenham.

I have always rated Noble, but his signing would be the obvious Dembele replacement and he's nowhere close to that talent. Don't like that move at all, if it happens.

MARTIN JOL is looking for a reunion with Dimitar Berbatov at Fulham.
Jol signed the striker for Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen six years ago for £11m.

But Tottenham were then forced to sell him to Manchester United for £30m just over two years later.

Bulgaria star Berba, 31, is now out of favour at Old Trafford. He has been linked with Italians Fiorentina but Fulham hope to persuade him to stay in England and team up with his old manager.

Juventus are also keen and Berbatov flew out to Italy yesterday — but the deal is not finalised which gives Fulham boss Jol hope.

If he loses out, Jol may go for Sunderland’s Frazier Campbell.

That would not be bad at all. I'd love Berbatov, really like Noble and hope that Richardson would adapt as many of the other experienced PL players have who have come to Fulham and succeeded.
