Summer Transfer Thread

That was my first thought as well...cash strapped Everton? No way, especially not for 4 mil....laughable indeed.

 

So Talksport did a thing on free transfers and there were some interesting names on the list. Among them was Nathaniel Clyne and Ivica Olic. We need a RB and Clyne would solve our problems for years and we need a forward and Olic would put in 10+ goals and be a decent forward along with Pogrebnyak.

Really, we could be set without having to spend any transfer money and have a team capable of a top 7 finish. If we are a bit ambitious then that would be possible.

 

Inter are also interested in Schaars. That's the kind of signing that could push us over the top.

 

Apparently, we have all but signed Nacer Chadli from Twente. That's what his agent said and Sky Sports had him rated as £2.5m which seems pretty cheap. He destroyed our defense in the games he played against us and is an actual winger so this could be a great signing.


We are also interested in Watford winger Sean Murray. He won the football league young players of the month award in March and has played well for them in the second half of the season.

We want Raul, but he doesn't want to go to another European League and might play in Qatar. This would be a great move as he can still score. He's more than capable of scoring 15+ goals in the premier league. Imagine having him with Pogrebnyak and Dempsey? We could score 50 goals from those players alone.


I want him which means he won't come here and will go to Qatar. Probably should have said I would hate the signing.

 

According to the Sun, we are about to sign Luciano Narsingh and Ousamma Assaidi from Herenveen for £10m. Both players are wingers.

I looked up Narsingh and apparently he is so good that he will be playing for the Dutch in the Euros. He has had a hand in 33 goals in 44 appearances. Why does the Sun have to be the source of this information!?!? There's no chance we sign him now.

 

If he is cheap, then bringing in Arshavin isn't a bad idea. He has the talent so maybe if he had a fresh start, he would start performing up to the talent.

 

We are linked with Jordan Rhodes. He has scored 40 goals for Huddersfield and is only 22. The cost might be £3.5m. As long as this isn't our big forward then I don't mind it. We need a proven goalscorer if we are going to lose Dempsey.

 

Berba wants out of Manure. I would love him at Fulham, but I'm sure he'll end up somewhere else. Imagine if we kept Dembele and Dempsey and added Berba.

There is a big 'if' w/Berbatov; if he would be willing to take a pay cut (not sure what his wages are, but probably signficantly more than what Fulham wants to pay a 31 year old striker). If they can reach a salary that would be amiable, the this isn't out of the realm of possibility. Berbatov realized his dream of playing at the highest level in the sport, and was incredibly productive for ManUre (49 goals in 108 appearances), then had to suffer the indignity of riding the pine. He's been there, done that, and might be at the stage in his career where playing time is a helluva lot more important than being on the biggest team possible. Throw in Jol being the manager who brought him in to Spurs and this rumor isn't without legs.
