I know something he could do that would change my mind about EJ: score goals.

However, I think if he finds a groove at Cardiff, he will be able to transfer his form to Fulham...he just has to get that mojo back. Or, he could pull a "Rick Ankiel" and become a goalkeeper....

lol, what a novel concept for EJ... find the back of the net (preferably with a shot)

I haven't seen him swing the bat, but in order for him to have his best chance to make it at the top level EJ should pull a "Rick Ankiel" and become an outfielder. 8)

But... but... I mean, if you recognize that you were short of a left-sided midfielder after you sent Hammer and Cook out on loan, then WHY did you loan them both out and let yourself get into that situation in the first place? This line of reasoning makes no sense to me.

Josh, when I asked that question over on Friends of Fulham, the response I got concerning Cook was that his heart was never in playing for anyone other than QPR, that we took him to help out a neighbor who was on the verge of going under at that point. The point of lending him to QPR was that if he played with full enthusiasm for his favored club, his valuation would increase and we could transfer him for what he's actually worth.

Of course, that doesn't answer the question about Hammer.

Seems pretty likely that Roy thinks Hammer wasn't good enough to provide that support and that Gray is. I'd have guessed the same thing about Cook, but it sounds like there's a whole other aspect on that one.

    here's what i figure...and it doesn't really make sense.

not to go all mel kiper on you, booze and cook have some upside. so instead of them sitting on the bench, woy loaned them out in hopes that a)they'll get good by playing a lot and then eventually play (well) for us; or b) we'll be able to sell them at a high price.

whereas gray presumably isnt going to get any better, and he can rot on the bench without the club losing any investment.

its all about long term investments, and i guess this plan of action will reap more benefits, although making no sense in the short term.

He'll need to be Kamara-esque to make it an easy jump back up.

He thinks they are not good enough, but is too much of a gentleman to say so, would be th easiest answer.

Yesterday during the Wales/Ajerbajian match on Gol TV Ray Hudson mentioned 2-3 times that Everton put in a bid for Simon Davies during the window and Fulham rejected it. He went on to say Davies was upset that he wasn't allowed to talk to Everton about a possible move. It left me wondering where Hudson got such info because I don't remember seeing anything about any interest in Davies all summer. The window is closed but it is still interesting if true.
