weltmeisterclaude has completed his review of FFC players still on the books with the forwards. Here's the link to Craven Cottage Newsround:

    http://cravencottagenewsround.wordpress.com/

If you haven't already done so, track back through the entire series -- there's one posting for each area of the pitch. For those of you new to the club, it's a good extended view of our first team squad, and the assessments are free of the vitriol you'll find in other British Fulham sites, and the pro-American blindness that occasionally crops up here.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for posting that link Don. A very honest and objective assessment.

My .02: I think Kamara's decision is linked to whether or not Mcbride stays. On the flipside, Kamara's late season heroics may have shot up his value and Fulham could get away with having another team overpay for him...

Not so much an in/out as an expectation of additional contributions from a current player:

    One For The Future

Essentially, the point of the article is that Billy McKinlay expects that Adrian Leijer will make an impact on the first team squad this coming season. If he's ready to play, it'd make it a lot easier to ship out Pearce and Christanval and Stefanovic. He'll presumably be on Australia's squad for the Olympics this summer, and their group includes Argentina and Cote d'Ivoire, so that should be a pretty good test for him.

yep. plus they have Degan now too.

    here's the article on Goal.com:

don't know if I agree with the part about Stalteri "not impressing at right back". I though he actually did a more than adequate job.

Why is Omozusi suddenly not an option at RB? I thought he was pretty good for a young, inexperienced player.

    more rumors...

first Carson, then Isaksson, now Schwarzer.

Middlesboro keeper Mark Schwarzer is out of a contract at Middlesboro although there are some bigger clubs that want a shot at the GK as well.

Have to agree w/jmh about Leijer, you hear this kid has got the goods.

More importantly, last summer there were over 500 posts, numerous thread boycotts (all were drawn back like moths to light), before the first signing arrived. Hell if we aren't on a good pace to top that

Wome was one of the MANY failed Tigana signings. Let him rot wherever he lands. HOWEVER, he seems to have been at alot of big clubs recently which leads me to believe that maybe he has improved? Probably not, but whatever.

If we're going for LB material, then Artur Boka from Stuttgart is a much better option.

What happened to that Brazilian RB we were supposedly signing?

by all means, let's have 27 right backs on the squad and only two players on the books who have any left foot to speak of.

Evra is small too, but that doesn't stop him. Actually I think Boka is pretty much the same player as Evra. Maybe a little less talented, but damn good still.

Leijer and Omozusi are still gaining the confidence and experience needed for the prem level. I am not convinced that either of them are ready for regular first team action at this time.

I am not sure of the logistics of Stalteri's loan deal, but Finnan is head and shoulders above Stalteri in my opinion. He still should be starting over Arbeloa. For 2 million pounds he is a steal and has at least 2-3 quality seasons left in the tank.

What's with all the talks of new keepers. If Keller stays, certainly hope he does, then Fulham have two quality keepers in Niemi and Keller. Schwarzer is a good options, but would cost too much for a marginal amount of improvement over the current keepers. The same goes for Carson. Makes far too many mistakes and would cost a pretty pence to bring him in.

The reason why we need a keeper is because Niemi is clearly past it and Keller is almost 40. Keller will join Seattle and that will leave us with a keeper that is complete crap now. Niemi was good 4 years ago, but now he's shit. Why do you think a 39 year old keeper is starting ahead of him? Because he's shit.

Schwarzer will turn 36 in July. I say pass.

I thought Stalteri was pretty good for us. I couldn't say whether Finnan is better at this stage of his career.

Nick, I agree that Omozusi is pretty good for a young player but I think he'd benefit from having a more experienced player (Stalteri or Finnan) around to learn from.

The Brazilian RB was Leyrielton, but I have no idea what happened with that.

I'd say Niemi was pretty good two years ago, not four, but regardless the question is whether he'll be any good next year, and I think we all agree that we'd rather not find out.

I agree with ffc24 on the keeper situation. Niemi has been past his prime for a while, but i don't think that keller is the answer by any means. I think Carson would do a good job, especially since he got to start for a season with villa. He'll only get better with a regular starting spot. But what about this Stockdale character that we keep hearing about?

Is he only one for the future. I don't know much about him, i know he has only played in the lower leagues, but is he an option?

Let's make this perfectly clear: there is absolutely, positively no way Fulham is buying Carson. We spent about £20 million TOTAL in the summer transfer period last year, and it felt like we'd run off with the family credit card for the weekend. There's no way we're spending half of that on a single player, especially not a keeper.

Does anyone really think any team is going to spend 10 mil on Carson?

Kasey's going to be our #1 on opening day. The chances are good that Batista and/or Stockwell will be loaned out to a CCC side for seasoning. But these guys are our guys for the future. Splashing out for Carson seems wasteful when we've already got young guys on the books. Somebody like Schwartzer -- if we can get him cheaply -- would be a good veteran to lean back on. If Niemi is still keeping in England in August, I'm thinking it'll be in the CCC.
