According to Sky Sports the Stoor deal is nearly done and Volz is being considered by Racing Santander.

Liverpool almost didn't make it last year; I think they may drop to UEFA cup this year. The next tier of teams have improved.

There are still reports that we are after Andy Johnson. I thought Roy said we were still looking for another striker. It will be interesting to see the starting lineup vs. Hull. Here's an idea with what we have currently, but dang is that midfield a little tricky. Keep in mind Stoor is not signed officially yet so I don't have him in my lineup.

    ----------Schwarzer
    Paintsil-Hughes-Hangman-Konch
    -----------Andreasen
    -----Davies-Bullard-Murphy
    ----------Gera
    ------------------Zamora

    who am I forgetting?

I cannot see Murphy playing a wing dogg! Of the current players on the roster I think the left wing will be won by Dempsey, Gera or Cook unless Bouazza has figured out over the summer that football is played in other than straight lines.

Logic tells you that you don't sign 4-5 right-sided players when you already had at least 3-4 that could already play there and you have 2 players that are naturally left-footed on the team. This guy hasn't impressed me at all with his transfers. He's a tactical genius, but transfer wise, I'm still skeptical.

The most overrated player on the team.

The only way Dempsey is overrated is if you think he is a 'great' player, if you happen to think he is a 'good' player' as I do, then he is not overrated.

Dempsey is the closest thing we have to a do-everything midfielder, someone in the Owen Hargreaves mould. Unfortunately, while he can do everything, he's not terribly great at anything. He has responded well to Roy's coaching IMO, so maybe there is still room for improvement. I'm sure a lot of people would disagree (and understandably so), but I would like to see him tried in a defensive midfield role at least once.

The Omozusi loan deal makes sense if he was not in Roy's plans for this year. I would guess we will be hearing an announcement that Stoor has signed very shortly.

Good for Omz. I was fairly impressed with his play last season when he played. Definitely not what I expected from a 19yo without too much playing time.

It needed to be said. Thanks for saying it.

This club will be built on teamwork, not upon pie-in-the-sky fantasies about being the galacticos of SW6. Dempsey is a good part of the first team who will at minimum continue to provide solid service for Fulham.

His athleticism, relative youth, and continued progression with Fulham suggest that his best days are yet to come.

As I said, I like getting Omozusi out on loan to get some experience. I don't think Stefanovic is a huge loss, but I'm concerned about the depth at center back unless and until someone else comes on. Either way, I wish him well.

The year will do Omozusi good, especially if Hodgson got Norwich to promise regular first team action as part of the deal.

We've got Hangman, Leijer, Kallio, Paintsil, Hughes, and Baird who are or can play at centre-back on the squad. I wonder if the long-rumored Simunic deal will be coming down the pike soon?

Who said anything about pie in the sky galacticos? Dempsey is crap and has been ever since the end of the last world cup. He's a diving cheating bastard that seemed to have lost all of his trickery and skill in an instant. He's certainly not the player we saw at the last world cup and has certainly not deserved a starting place on this team or the US.

Wow, imagine how many goals he would've scored last season if he were a good player, then.

Seriously, why do you even post here?

I think if you took a poll of people in England, they'd agree 100% with my assesment. He dives,he hasn't played anywhere near he used too, and he's overrated by many supporters in the US. I can't help it if it's the truth.
