He comes on a free and will be Leon Andreasen's cover in a 4-5-1 or some such formation with a DM. This guy looked great when he first came to Bolton. Looked the best player on the pitch at times. He is also the right age and has a season-and-a half of EPL football behind him. This isn't a bad signing at all, imo.

Again, few 'big names' at the height of their careers are not going to sign for Fulham this year. Just ain't going to happen.

Disagree with FFC24, he's a young signing, with obvious potential and did the job in the Premier League (and European competition) albeit a brief time. He is described as 'cover' by Hodgson and to answer your question, Does he make our team better?"

If he plays well and provides much needed DM cover and chips in with a goal or two. Then yes!

Oh, and guess who is back?! http://www.fulhamusa.com/modules.php?op ... =0&thold=0

Great news to hear Danny is staying 1 more year. Depth of the squad seems to be Roy's thing. That can only help come FA Cup time.

Considering that Roy said he was brought in for cover, I don't think he needs to be better than what we have. Arguing about this signing is like debating which only-plays-once-a-week backup utility infielder should be the 25th man on a baseball team's roster.

He has tools, has shown flashes of quality, and is young enough to improve under good coaching. I'd rather give a contract to someone like that than Jari Litmanen's missing shoe insoles.

I personally believe Roy is shrewdly building squad depth with the free transfers he has signed to this point. By signing Gera and Andranik he has created competition for positions without using any of his transfer budget. When I finished celebrating staying up and looked at the squad the areas that I thought had to be adressed over the summer to improve the squad were a replacement for McBride, a left winger, a right back and a center back. If Roy had spent a large part of his transfer budget before addressing these positions I might be concerned but he has not and I am not. Keep up the good work Roy!

Danny, as one who cursed you out behind your back (conveniently enough) from September until late March, I am glad to have you back for another year.

Moving on, I see the #1 need right now is another capable striker (where have you gone McHead?!?). I am pretty fired up for the next year, I certainly don't think we will be in a relegation fight to the degree we were this year. I have faith in Woy that he will be able to bring in someone to fill this need.

I don't know if this matters much, but I read the posts on the Bolton message board about our new signings departure and aside from a couple of negatives comments, the rest were all positive on his abilities and thought it was a shame he was leaving.....and one guy referred to him as an attacking midfielder, not a defensive one? I have no idea cause I don't think I ever saw him play.

I saw Andraniak as more of an attacking midfielder when I saw him play. I remember watching him play during the 2006-2007 season a few times and I thought he was quality. I am not sure why he never played more, but I like him and thought he was one of the better players on the pitch those times.

I am not saying he is going to be an all-Premier League player for us, but I think he is young and has shown some ability in this league already. I look forward to seeing him play for us next season. I think he could surprise a lot of people.

I've seen him play three times. Twice it was as a substitute. I saw him play in the middle of the pitch twice...didn't really seem as if he was in a dmid role...more of a CM...and the other time I saw him on the right flank...and he played really well over there...served in a couple of good balls. So who knows where he'll be, just suffice it to say he will make competition for spots better.

Welcome Murphy's signing as well. Anyone who has that kind of nerve when you need him the most is worth retaining. The goal against Pompey was an amazing display of composure considering the circumstances and the fact he isn't often called upon to finish in that fashion.

Listen, I know Roy has helped us stay up, but if you look at his signings, only Hangeland impressed a great dealand Stalteri was decent, but not anything super special. Nevland showed he could score 1 on 1 and Andreasen showed he had a major temper problem. I think Zoltan could help us a great deal if he reverts back to his 2004 form, but going by what has happened so far, I'm guessing we're gonna be taking alot of unnecessary risks with our signings.

Anybody else watch Romania play? I like Rat. He kept Ribery quiet in the first game and has shown to be a decent attacking option.

Let it be known that I NEVER ONCE SLATED DANNY BOY FOR HIS PERFORMANCES, it was more like 15-20 times. Having admitted to my many faults I am pleased to say that I'm happy to have Danny back in the fold for another season.

I'm still optimistic. Roy has already managed to improve the squad without spending any money. Doesn't the transfer window not officially open until like July 1 or something?

as I understand it, we can only sign "out of contract" players or free transfers until July 1.
