15 per season. Harewood could do that if he applied himself.

Problem is that he never really commits on a consistent basis. If Villa are wanting 4 million GBP, then they are asking about 2.5 million too much.

I still can't believe O'Neill bought him from West Ham. Bet they're all chuckling about it in East London.

Come on Don, not as much as us Fulham fans after O'Neil bought Zat off of us for a grand total of 4 million pounds!

Harewood is the typical 'confidence' striker. When he has his confidence up and scoring goals, he'll go on a streak (ala West Ham two season ago when he scored in 7 straight matches I think) but when he's down he disappears completely for weeks at a time.

Does anyone know much or seen Bresciano play? Fulhamweb has an article about Roy's interest in him. Assuming he is a real target, would he strengthen our bench while making Fulham younger or does he replace, say Murphy in the starting lineup? Looks like he has scored a 1/2 dozen or so goals in seasons past, with the big exception being this last year.

Mike, interesting on Harewood. His goal production has been quite good with the exception of the last two seasons. Maybe Roy thinks he can get in his head and get him back to the 15 goal like seasons he has had in the past.

Can we afford to replace a presence like McBride with a disappearing act?

Then again, how many guys like McBride are out there who are not valued at 10-20 million? We have to take chances.

Physically, he brings the same kind of advantages to the table as a McBride or a Duncan Ferguson. If Roy can get him to bring his best regardless of how things have went for him in, then it'll be a good deal for Fulham.

HDL ... you're right; it's going to be the devil's own work trying to replace McBride in a Fulham jersey. The only consolation is that it won't be nearly as hard as it has been to replace him in a USMNT jersey. Two full years and nobody has come close.

My impression is that he's sort of a left-sided Simon Davies, so he's probably replace the black hole in that part of the lineup.

Hatter, I like your new Avatar. The gym time looks like it has really done wonders and the dye job and shaving off your beard has taken years off. Nice work! :)

Thanks, I read your post and was inspired to watch the official site McGod video tribute again, well I actually twice to be honest, with my 5 year old. He was as transfixed as I was, although I think I was the only one with goose bumps. He told me it was 'cool'.

Wow, I would do that in a second and without even thinking about who's going to play left back next year. 71 goals in all competitions for Rangers in the last three years and he's still only 24. That rumor is far too good to be true.

Please keep in mind that nothing is being leaked at Motspur Park at all and, as we have experienced before, Roy keeps his cards close to his chest and doesn't let anyone talk. Even my usual (some obvious, some not) sources don't have much of anything.

Even Barra Boy isn't getting much but says we can expect an influx of 8-10 players!

that's what I figgered, Mikey. One thing about the British sporting press; if there is no news, they'll make stuff up out of whole cloth. Anything's better, I guess, than saying that there's nothing brewing.

"influx of 8-10 players" + "Roy thinks the squad is too big" = "lots of departures"?

I'd be really happy with Saha,Kalou/Bresciano(Depending on which one we could get),Gooch and Mendy. All players would be cheap and the wages wouldn't be astronomical. Then we could do whatever we want with the other holes. I like Mudingayi from Lazio as well and I like Boyd, but the problem with Boyd is that he never seems to get a chance which indicates that something is wrong with his game. What that something is, I'm not sure, but if we get him to start we may be disappointed. Oh and Kalou makes TO look like a team player so we should watch out for that.

Kalou would be awesome! I know he's kind of a headcase, but he's a consistent threat, and he can just pour in goals.

A Saha return would be nice, but we'd have to devote a portion to the FUSA frontpage designed to the Saha Injury Watch (complete w/ odds)...

I'm not sure why Gooch would come cheap. He started 33 of 34 league matches for the club that won the Belgian League championship and will play in the Champions League next year. He might want to move to England, meaning his wages might be reasonable if he were to do so, but Standard have no pressing need to sell him.

I'm not sure why Boyd had a hard time getting into the starting lineup for Rangers this year (I'll check with a guy I know who supports them), but I have to assume it must've been injury related. You don't keep the guy who was the top scorer in your league for the two previous seasons out of your lineup without a good reason. Even so, he scored 17 goals in 17 league appearances and 20 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions, both of which led the team. (For comparison's sake, Daniel Cousin scored 10 league goals in 26 league appearances, 12 in all competitions.) Unless he's got some major debilitating injury, that level of offense is a bargain for the rumored price.

Edit to add: I just read this discussion about him from the BBC boards back in January. Seems like he's a Healy type of a player, great at finishing but doesn't create his own changes. Even so, he's bigger and younger than Healy and has a better strike rate at a higher level (since Healy has spent most of his career in lower divisions in England).
