You seem to have a lot more faith in 22-year-olds who've never played at a higher level than League Two than I do.

Word on the street here is that Fulham are looking to get McBride and Keller to stay on another year (The Times)

I certainly would welcome both back with open arms.

That's something we seem to have glossed over to this point - we seem to be assuming that Keller wants to stay and for all we know he doesn't.

Don't agree with ffc24's assessment of Niemi. Keller hit a hot streak when Niemi became injured and why mess with a good thing when a keeper is full of confidence.

Carson, Schwarzer and the other keepers that have been rumored are not head and shoulders better than either Keller or Niemi. I realize that age is playing a factor in the decision, but I would rather Fulham get a quality/proven player than splash 5-10 million on a player with potential.

Granted, both Niemi and Keller would look loads better with a defensive line that didn't provide so many opportunities to the opposition.

Nicky Shorey may be too expensive... but the Guardian is reporting that Roy Hodgson might try to bring Steve Finnan back to Craven Cottage.

Looks like Schwarzer might be a lock.

I'd love to see Finnan back with us but I can't imagine him leaving Champions League football for life at the bottom (or hopefully middle) of the table.

Somewhere in the press with two weeks to go in the season or so, Keller said he wanted to play another year at FFC regardless of division. That's why I've been so confident he'll be here. Wish I could find the link, but hell, I'm doing good just being up after 11 o'clock!

Finnan probably won't be starting at RB for Liverpool next year. So there's probably a chance at getting him.

712 posts on this thread, and when somebody actually moves, it gets posted elsewhere.

    Sigh. These kids today!

    Welcome Aussie!

    Two good signs:

    1) Hodgson did not waste much time making a positive addition in preparation for next season, and it shows he is serious; and

    2) We an now stop talking about Keepers (for the most part).

Sky was reporting the Finnan thing as well. The White Witch will be very pleased to hear that I imagine. And based on her reporting the guy has something in his heart for Fulham, so you never know.

considering the schwarzer thing came out of left field to me and I think its a good move, Roy definitly has a knack for getting good talent very quietly. I can't wait to see what he does next

Schwarzer coming in is a good deal. No worries at goal keeper now. The London factor may have made this thing happen. Surprised he didn't stay at Middlesbrough.

I think that sean davis would only be an okay addition. He would have to fight for a regular spot, because i can't imagine he is better than andreasen, who i think will be quality next season.

Never mind that - I'd love to see us sign Milan Baros.

(For what it's worth, that article gets it wrong - Baros IS on his way out of Portsmouth, because he was only there on loan from Lyon.)

Even though I'm mostly of Czech ancestory I would take a pass on Baros. High energy guy, puts himself in good positions...most of the time he can't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

A big thanks to Boca, a credit to his club and country. He's only 28, so hopefully he lands at a place where he gets regular first team action.

With Anelka unhappy at Chelsea is he a possibility for striker or is he out of Fulham's league in terms of budget or playing style?

Yes, he's out of our league. We can't pay his wages and we can't give him European football.
