Suarez showing he is still devoid of any class as he scores a handball goal v Mansfield - a conference side. How he can be proud of that goal by kissing his wrist is beyond me.

Suarez tried to bite Branislav Ivanović today (before netting a last-gasp equalizer--how he was still on the pitch is perplexing).

It begs the question, what can you do with a player like this? He doesn't seem to learn. And you can't realistically expect the club to bench him. As long as he is as talented as he is, he will play. I suppose the only hope is the FA throws the book at him and the bans start adding up to the point where it no longer makes sense to pay his wages.

If there is conclusive evidence of biting then I hope the punishment is extreme.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, FIFA needs to ban him from all competitions for a year. I'm no fan of FIFA, but they have to act quickly and decisively here. That they won't speaks to their disfunctionality, but this guy STILL doesn't get it. And they need to mandate some form of mental health rehabilitation before he can resume playing, because he's clearly got some behavioral problems that need to be addressed professionally, i.e., medically. Liverpool can, and should cut him loose, and the FA could impose something, but this needs to be planet wide. Right now this guy does not deserve to play the game professionally. He needs punishment and assistance, not necessarily in that order. Such a waste of talent.

I think Rodgers needs to make sure Suarez is fed an ample supply of apples and oats before the next match :D

On assault type acts during games, the NHL took to suspending players for anywhere from 25-33% of the season. I'd like to see something similar here. Minimum 10 match ban (in the league), ideally 15 with big fines for both player and club. And I'd make him ineligible for any cup matches during his suspension.

I'll be really disappointed if Liverpool don't act and wait for the FA to rule. They should come out and suspend him for the rest of the season at minimum. Given this is his second offense of this nature, and his ongoing reputation for poor behavior on the pitch throughout his career, I'd really like to see him out of the league.

Ah come on, I think it is plain to see from this photo that Ivanovic was trying to gain a comptetive advantage by covering Suarez's mouth to deprive him of oxygen. :?

Lol Tim and Barry, good stuff. Did laugh also at the tweet by the twit Piers Morgan (an Arse fan) 'you'll never chomp alone'. All joking aside, have to agree w/Jim, this guy has got some real medical issues. The match he had yesterday has to be regarded as biting commentary on his brilliance and lunacy all rolled into one; magical assist, moronic hand ball giving chelsea a pk, mistaking Ivanovic's arm for a chicken wing, and the tying goal (not only in a mysterious 6 minutes of stoppage, but at the 6:30 mark of it  )

I see that Mike Tyson has come out in his favor.

NO, this isn't a joke. There was an SI.com article in my feed this morning.

10 matches by the FA, stretching into next season. NOT ENOUGH! I predict repeated bad behavior from this man until he mans up and seeks help for his obvious problems.

I don't believe ten matches for assault is enough either.

And then Liverpool comes out and says this:

"Both the club and player are shocked and disappointed at the severity of today's Independent Regulatory Commission decision," Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said in a statement on the club's website"

Really? Shocked? He has shown he is a reprehensible human being. This is not the first time he has bitten someone on the pitch, he had the racial incident, followed quickly by flipping off Fulham fans that got him I believe 2 extra games in that suspension for a total of 8. IMO he was most of the reason Dalgish got fired. When does the club say enough is enough and hold him responsible for his own actions, not saying they have to get rid of him, but make him see a counselor, maybe add 2 games to what the FA has already give. It's obvious he does not lean from his past. I hope they appeal and the FA tacks on 2 more games.

I understand having your players' backs and I can even understand being paralyzed by the fear of losing what Suarez means to your offense but it doesn't make it right. Liverpool, as a club, look worse and worse as they continue to complain and act persecuted with each of these incidents. I'm a little surprised by this insular attitude by a club with ownership that resides outside of the little red Merseyside bubble.

Scrolling through the posts on this thread I couldn't help but notice that I posted a year ago that he didn't learn from his previous mistake so should be suspended further. And here we are, yet again. This guy has to run out of chances at some point.

What is really hard to swallow are the fans cries of xenophobia. Really? How many English players are left in the Premiership and didn't the bite occur on a player of Slavic nationality? Someone please explain to me where that thought process generated from.
