Chelsea are down some good players and are going to rest players, that bodes well for us. I thought it was just a bunch of ho-ha that people have been speaking out about Hiddink being a real pain, but even his quotes in straight text sound unnervingly condescending. I think he cannot avoid showing his true colors.... which are apparently the same colors as the hindquarters of a horse. I really hope we pummel these guys

Bring on the Villa. Still only one point out of Europe. We knew this game was a tough nut to crack. I'm still optimistic for the last three games

 

On the positive side, Pantsil was immense back there for us. Love the perfectly timed tackle on Lampard in the area. His collision with Drogba wasn't half bad either. I mean, is it just me, or does it seem queer that someone of his stature ends up on the floor so often?

 

Its not just you, Drogba's acting was in full strength.

Overall, I felt kinda depressed with the boys today. I felt like some of them had given up, even when we where only down by 1 and the guys that where really trying just looked frustrated by the others. I was really surprised by Murphy's play, seemed off and he really didn't seem to have urgency until the 80th minute - which is just too late to try to gain back 2 goals against Chelsea.

Have to agree with last post, we looked like the team who had played midweek, and who were going to play again this week.

I will accept Chelsea are out of our league, but where was the fight, we played some nice stuff, but that's what they wanted a nice easy game, the ref had one of the easiest games his ever had, was I wrong one Yellow card and that was for Murphy taking a free kick to soon, in a derby game against Chelsea!!!!!!!!!!!!! the last thing they wanted was a scrap, and we obliged.

Sad really because we could have proved a point today, and all we did was prove the point that we are so far behind them its embarrassing, they hardly got out of second gear.

Just got back to Henley from my first away game courtesy of William with the miracle ticket. We went over to the Lion for a couple of pints before heading back up the District line up to the Bridge. Absolutely loved the away experience. The Fulham fans were much more boisterous and vocal than the chelski faithful, if you can call them that. Something I will alway remember until dementia sets in at least. Ok, that is the good news.

On to the game. This will be short. We were pretty much shite. No way around it. Brede had the only respectable game IMO. Schwarzer was ok, at least two goals there was nothing he could do. You would have thought it was us that had just played Barca. Nevland had a quality goal, I must say that. And Zamora...I am done with him (although I hope his injury is not serious). I am just going to write this off as just a bad game for the lads, it happens. Oh yeah, I think Drogba is on par with Ronaldo in terms of dives....pathetic.

Well I wish would have had a better result but as I mentioned, the experience was awesome and the weather was great.

William, really nice to meet you and thanks for the ticket...really appreciate it. I believe I still owe you a few more beers for the ticket. Anytime you want to come out Henley way, just let me know.

Now if I had only went straight back to Henley before stopping off at a casino and leaving a £100 behind....insult to injury.

The most disappointing thing for me in this match was Nevland's injury. He was active and his runs looked like they had a purpost to them. After he left we seemed to just drift around up front.

Credit where credit is due; Chelsea's first goal was a demonstration in how the game is supposed to be played.

I love how he diplomatically left the roadie to St. James out of the equation. He must have been thinking, "Right now I could put out our U16s and they would put two past the Toon, but we'll just let that go for now".

How do the injuries to Zamora & Nevland look? Gera looked gimpy too. This is where having a thin bench sucks right now.

Watching Drogba writhe in pain after the hit with Pantsil, it looked like there would be 10 minutes in injury time at the end of the game. The man looked like he experienced pain for the first time in his life.
