Reality check: Mercury emissions and light bulbs.

    Even if every compact fluorescent was broken and its mercury released, net reduction over incandescents would STILL be more than 5 mg.

    Note there are STILL quasi-'save the planet' types saying they are dangerous.

    The complaint most have against CFL's are the color, but new bulbs are being made that are more color-accurate. Likewise the failure rate of new bulbs, previously a problem, has gone WAY down. About 80% {and all the most used} bulbs in my house are now fluorescent.
