Out of curiosity has either the Brentford or QPR rivalries lost any of their luster since Fulham has not played a meaningful game against either since 2000/2001 or do friendlies keep the rivalry fresh for the fans?

The rivalries have lost some luster due to not playing each other, but if the teams were drawn in the FA or Carling Cup, the rivalry would heat right back up. It was even quite heated when QPR played Fulham this summer in a friendly.

If the clubs were ever in the same division again the rivalry would be renewed in a hurry.

thanks to all regarding this very important question posed by my fellow midsouth fulham fan. Maybe ToM should have not said "older" folks....he should refer to these people as Jedi's. We refer to the Jedi's on the complex questions of life, love and football.

Also, one must not forget our disgust for all things Gillingham. This is also quite a serious one...even if they are in the lower leagues. I actually wonder what it would be like if we play them in a cup in the very near future.

I think you should explain this one Mike so as others really understand why Fulham HATES Gillingham.

OK Let me TRY to explain how it was and how it is today. Before 1992 (I Think it was) The English Football League was made up of FOUR Divisions and below you will see how it was and how it is today:

Premiership or EPL = Division 1
Championship sponsored by Coke Cola = Division 2
    League One = Division 3
    League Two = Division 4

Then you go into the Non-League teams

Prior to 1992 Two teams were relegated to the next Division down and two promoted, the bottom club in Division 4 was relegated to the conference and the champions of the Conference Promoted to Division 4. there was No Play off as there are now. the highest prize as is today was to win Division One now The Premiership.

    Hope this helps

That is another way of saying "Black and White Army." Another term used to refer to Fulham.

I despised the 'scum even before I became a Fulham supporter. Now, even more reason to dislike them!

I think so, at least from our perspective. QPR and Brentford fans still hate us. Except Lee Cook. I hope.
