In his defense, he's been working as a commentator for Fox News for so long, he probably forgot how to use facts and truth in his statements.

Not any. There are still a few around trying to do it right, although the list is getting very, very short each day.

Not sure how I feel about this one. The Donald has changed the rules about campaigning, choosing to attack the press at every turn. The Times has changed the rules about covering him as a result. I don't like releasing personal information against someone's will, regardless of if they're running for president. But in his case, I'm torn. And there is the question of how it was obtained. This has gotten way, way out of hand, and that only means that fewer people will be inclined to vote. And that's really bad, and saddens me deeply.

Marla provided the tax return to the Times. Since she was Mrs. T at the time and was on the return, it was perfectly legal for her to send it to the Gray Lady and for them to print it.

It's more than a little chicken shit, but there you are.

I tried to watch the VP debate, I really did. I tried twice. The first time I switched back to the O's-Jays game was when Tim Kaine decided NOT to answer THE VERY FIRST QUESTION POSED TO HIM and, instead, went on history lesson/rant about the venue and it's significance in his home state. Click. The second time was when he started interrupting Pence about foreign affairs, more than once, by intejecting Trump's comments about Vladimir Putin, which the hostess kept insisting they'd get to in a feeble attempt to get the thing back on track. Click. I dislike both of these clowns almost as much as Hillary and Donald. Kaine had a somewhat Howard Dean-esque thing going on that really turned me off. Pence just kept trying to calmly defend the indefensible while denying that he said things he clearly said. Again, just another disappointing excuse for more to stay away from the polls.

Still not watching debates live, this is just too much of a disaster.

Is this really the best we can do out of 323 million people?

I forced myself to watch all of it. JFK is rolling over in his grave. That we've come to this speaks volumes about where we are as a country. The two major political parties need to do some serious soul searching after this election and put SOMETHING into place that will at least lessen the chance of two more such pitiful candidates in the future. That being said, I'm sure no minds were changed as a result of last night's activities. More importantly, no one appeared to make a fatal comment or gesture to jeopardize their candidacy. If there were ANY viable third party candidates on the ballot (and trust me, I'm still looking), I would vote for them instead of either of these two. Gary Johnson's position on climate change troubles me greatly, but I'm starting to lean toward him a little bit. Darrell Castle wants to ban all Muslims like Trump, so he's out. Evan McMullin is also a possibility, although he isn't on the ballot in a lot of states. He is in mine. Jill Stein is not your typical Green Party wacko, but she still has extremist views on too many issues to earn my vote. I will vote, but not for Hillary or Trump. And don't say I wasted my vote. The only wasted vote is an unprincipled vote. After watching both Democrats and Republicans make promises that frequently become lies, two conclusions should become evident: (1) The lesser of two evils is still evil, and (2) the only way to waste your vote is not to use it for a candidate that sends the message you want to send to America. In all honesty, It doesnt matter which evil you vote for if evil still wins.

This is where I'm at, I WILL vote 3rd party...just not exactly happy about those choices either. But Republicans and Democrats need to be sent a message that they messed up big time on this go around.

My kids will be accompanying their parents at the voting booth tomorrow.

My son asked me who is going to be President. I said, "I don't know, but I do know I will be disappointed."

Yeah... except what the Donald says about the press is true... even though he wouldnt be the candidate if they hadnt focussed on every stupid thing he said. It was true when Romney ran.. more true now.
    - Dontcha kinda wish you had voted for Romney?

Wonder why I've been relatively silent? Either way, as average middle class Americans, we're screwed!
Seeing certain people on Facebook, who were for Bernie in the Primaries, plump for Hillary makes me fearful for our country maintaining any semblance of a Democracy.
Because Bernie was honest, not because his policies would work, they wouldn't because they never have... but on what he said about Hillary being corrupt.
So when you voted for Hillary, you're saying you're okay with that. That you WANT our country to be Chicago or, even worse, Detroit.
But Hillary isn't going to win the vote. The pissed off flyovers are going to win the vote and Trump will get the numbers. I'm not just going by the yard signs in my area, which are Trump, about 20-1... face it lots of Dems are ashamed they're vote for the biggest crook ever to run for President. What that tells me is he's gonna win my part of the country big.

Thing is though, winning this election is one thing, assuming office is another. I said well over a year ago the Democratic client base has been primed for action .. and if Trump wins, we're gonna see cities burning like never before. And normal processes are suspended under Martial Law.
And you know what, a lot of people I talk to expect that to happen. They're gonna vote Trump, as I am, anyway because they think it will send a message for the parties to pay attention. I don't think so, but WTH.

Yes, I really hope I'm wrong. But I'm probably not.

I see Sanders and Trump signs in my community. I've only seen a single Hillary sign. What surprised me about the Hillary sign was that it was in a part of the community I figured would be a Tump stronghold.

    Who's this question for? Me?
Here's my Congressional district...any love I have for Democrat pols is extremely low right now. I'm 15 minutes away from Annapolis and yet share a Rep with voters from northern Baltimore City? Okay. After this move, I went a anti-Democrat voting binge save a few offices and Trump. I will not vote for him...he's just too nutty.

This used to be fairly even state (4 Republicans and 4 Dems) until the gerrymandering that started under Glendening.

I already know my write-in vote for President doesn't have a shot of winning, but life will go on just like it always will in this country. I'm not anticipating another Civil War in my lifetime.

Damn, Fog! Massa Donald has got you all skeered of the black folks, eh?

Senator, I know the feeling. Our manders are so Gerry here that Austin -- the supposed bastion of liberals/progressives in the state -- shares a total of 9 congressional representatives [state and national]. One is a Democrat.

I don't forsee rioting in the streets regardless of the result. I'm much more afraid of well-armed "patriots" either protesting violently or celebrating violently.

That stinks. Hopefully, Maryland's gerrymandering case fixes this nonsense across the country.

This a big reason why I have such animosity towards political parties.

Maybe we have something we can all agree on: Gerrymandering is really bad. I'm in PA and we haven't voted for a Republican president since '88 and Democrats have been dominating in the state-wide offices. Despite that, there is a 13 t0 5 advantage for Republicans in PA congressional seats and Republicans have both chambers of the state house. This isn't because they've been winning the competition of ideas, its because of gerrymandering. My little college town is split into three different state house districts because we're a scary bastion of liberal thought. Less gerrymandering means fewer safe seats, more moderate candidates, and more compromise. In PA the State Supreme Court is heavily Democratic now and will likely reject the next redistricting plan put forth by Republicans, so at least we have that to look forward to. But I don't want it to swing the other way either, I just want boundaries that haven't been sculpted.

If you are angry at Gerrymandering, I hope you voted "down market" races. Congressional districts are designed in state legislatures.

Yes and no, here's the deal with Maryland:

In Maryland, the Governor is where the power at, our legislature is a part-time gig too.

I expected it would be closer than the polls indicated but not Bush/Gore close.

Hung out with a few fellow Vietnam vets this morning for coffee and BS. I wasn't at all surprised to see a few in black armbands. I wish I had thought of it myself.
