It was announced today that Fulham will be playing Real Madrid in Austria on Saturday, July 29th. Originally scheduled to play FC Augsburg, that match was cancelled and Real Madrid will now be the opponents of Fulham. Should be interesting.

I think its a great thing, even with Real Madrid in a state of transition they are certainly a premier team with premier players. It should be a great experience for the fulham players.

anybody know when our World Cuppers will be playing again? I know that several of the first round departers for other clubs are doing the pre-season thing already.

good to see Timlin making the bench. I'd like for him to get some time on the pitch this fall.

Not sure Don. I would assume they will be playing in the last friendly against Boavista on the 12th and possibly even against Borussia Mochengladbach on the 5th.

One thing I was disappointed to read about from today's friendly is that Fulham played a 4-5-1. I am not too fond of this formation, but if it will help the defense some while still being able to creat chances, I will be all for it. I just do not think we have a striker that can play alone up front that well.

I'd like to strangle that formation in its cradle. It only works if you have two wingers in the midfield, which basically makes it a 4-3-3. If your "1" is as good a passer as he is a scorer -- McBride, Rooney -- you're wasting his talents. I got so sick of watching Brian win ball after ball in the air with nobody around to help both with FFC and the USMNT in the WC.

    Musn't rant; musn't rant!

Yeah I agree, 4-5-1 dosnt play to McBrides qualities. Fulham played much better with the 4-4-2 formation.

I thought the match started at 18:00 British time, which would be noon here in Chicago. Am I wrong? (Love Spit Love style)
