What a classy remark by Tom on the front page, that he is not going to get into a pissing contest with the Toon fans who trolled all over his page at ESPN.

His attitude is not contagious, at least not as far as this thread is concerned.

My team on the inside trck to Europe and the Toon up shit creek in a leaky canoe... Toon fans crying like Armaggedon is here...

    Life is good!

Friedel warns Newcastle that Villa are out to win

    And after the fall?

I know.. "We can host a benefit for the Toon.. we can use the House Uncle Lamar Built!"

Just wait. If the Toon do get relegated, expect them to go massively hysterical crying foul at ManU for fielding a weaker side v Hull (what with that trivial Wed match upcoming).

There is already talk of "legal action" if ManU fields a lesser side. Really how dare Sir Alex (he got pissed at a press conference when he said before it started that he'd only be answering CL Final questions and the first one was about his lineup on Sunday) not put out his starters for this epic league match when he has a meaningless Champions League Final in a different country 72 hours later??

More and more I want to see those classic camera shots of fans crying when they realize their team is going down this weekend at Villa Park.

So, I get what I wished for.  :D

All I have to say is this: My team is going to Europe next year. We do things the right way, with a plan and patience.

A nameless team got relegated with a former Ballon D'or winner in the lineup and one of England's best goalscorers as the "gaffer". :3d crying:

I won't miss you next year. Have fun on that away fixture at Doncaster Rovers.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha. The Toon's relegation really was the icing on the cake. Doncaster, Barnsley, don't forget Scunthorpe.

And they truly deserve it. While all of the teams in the relegation mix lost their final matches today, no team curled up in the fetal position and quit quite like the Toon. They were truly shameful. Having watched Fulham in that spot 2 years in a row and watching them fight and claw their way free; I could have lived with going down b/c we left it all on the pitch. Newcastle? Pathetic. May their absence be long.

ummmm... 'karma', guys! I dont think footy fans could relish another's dismissal more unless it were ManUre or Chelsea and that aint bloody likely. Maybe that is the reason for the glee.. sorta displaced.
I have my own reason for satisfaction and that is the way they showed up for summer friendly with the Crew. A point on that, a traveling reporter's sniffy references to Columbus and the fact Shearer never showed his face; and that is who we wanted to see.

Contrast that with Fulham and Cookie's attitude.

I dont think they will be down but one season, two at most. And that's okay with me.. unless they come up against Preston in the final for the place. WOULD like to see Preston up, if only for a year. Just break that perennial freaking 'not quite up to it' meme.

I thought about this last night, and you know what, you're right. I read where Simon Jordan relayed a story when Palace got sent down in 2005 at the hands of their derby rivals Charlton. I guess someone in Charlton said something pretty pointed to him, and he thought what goes around comes around. Now look who's in League 1.

I thought my previous post was fairly measured, but I guess that's up to individual interpretation. My agitation with their constant stage theatrics is enough to make me enjoy a year (at least) without them. I also won't miss the Sky announcers who apparently have been ordered to live and die with the CarToon like the two guys in the avatar/ Fog's photo. What I really wanted, and didn't even consider as a possibility as late as March was 11 places up the table from the Toon.

    WE GOING TO EUROPE!!!

Part of the clearout at St. James' SHOULD be a Bosman free transfer to Wormwood Scrubs FC for Mr. Barton.

Click on Steve's link above for a working definition of "Bleedin' Cheek."

Just what did Wormwood Scrubs FC ever do to you that you would wish something like that upon them?

Guess hoping it's Hicks and/or Gillett would be asking too much? If not them, then maybe Donald Sterling. He has an excellent track record for this club.

I think it's SteveM19 heading it up, in a last ditch effort to save the team and the town he loves so much.

    :3d funny:  :3d laughing: :D

I just noticed (not sure when the switched happened, but the BBC updated their site), now New Castle fans have to select 'Championship' instead of 'Premier' to find out the scoop on their team on the BBC website.

Damn, thats got to hurt. What a constant reminder.

I just looked up their fixtures doing the same thing. And I didn't smile or laugh at all!! OK, I'm lying.

    I rather like this one:

Tue. 20 Oct, 14:45 ET Scunthorpe United v Newcastle United, Glanford Park, English League Championship.

I really don't want to make any more Toon jokes, in large part because I realize that they are probably funny only to me. But can I keep laughing to myself at the same themed jokes for the next year? Or longer, because I'll put 50 push ups on the line that they are not going right back up?
