No, it's interesting to me. I'm not a clinical psychologist but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and I was in the business of sussing out how people dealt with information technology.

I found that it didnt take people long to give you a hint as to why they held any particular opinion. Even if they didnt realize it.

I listened to the scintillating 0-0 draw between BSOFC and Pompey. Great result for me -- the Toon neede all 3 and they came up too short.

Cheer up, Toon fans. After all, how bad can it be when you get sent down? It'll be just a small bump in the road. Don't fret!

And to Fog and Dog, for the A Shearer cracks, :3d tongue:

Steve, I watched the whole thing on me computer -- look out 21st century, HatterDon is on his way -- and they never looked a threat. The closest they came to a goal was a characteristic mega-brain-fart by Calamity James. Their defense works well together. Their strikers work well together. Their midfield -- with one major exception -- was also a reasonable unit. None of the three units, however, seemed to show any ability to work with either of the other two.

If they play that way against use, we're going to put three past them. Shearer may think they have a chance, and the fans may think so also, but the players look relegated already.

They'd be toast if not for Hull. Funny that when Keegan said they didn't have the horses he was run out on a rail. Now Shearer says it and it might as well have been spoken from on high. Truth is, they have more talent than most clubs they're fighting for survival against. But they play worse under Shearer than any of the other 29 mgrs they've had this season....cept that young guy that preceeded AS as a temp.

According to Sky Sports, NUFC isn't budgeted to survive a relegation so there will either be a firesale of epic proportions or they will follow the path of Leeds. Should be interesting.

You know the funny thing? Shearer fielded a lineup that said he was going for it. They took Martens and Owen out of bubble wrap for starts, and they wheeled in Viduka to start too. I think that was his 2nd or 3rd game of the year? In the best of times, that's some serious goalscoring talent. In today's world, Shearer is a day late and several points short.

Yeah, I'd start placing bets on Newcastle going down. They don't look like they're going to make it. Shearer has no clue what he's doing.

    It's unbelievable really.

The Toon didn't show up against Liverpool, can't say I'm surprised, but what I am surprised is that they have just quit. QUIT! Look at the 2nd and 3rd goals. Kuyt and Lucas were completely unmarked.

Going down, soon to be gone but not missed at all. Good luck against Doncaster next year, gentlemen.

See the stats on that one Steve? Shearer's boys mustered 0 shots on target and just 1 off target.

prediction: Hull continues to suck, go down with 'boro and the Baggies., and the Toon stay up by one point. For the next 10 months, Steve goes completely batshit!

We didn't make our move until the 36th round last year (the Al-Citeh comeback), so I expect this to be the w/e at least one of the 5 toilers makes a move. Course Boro/Toon playing their 6 pointer doesn't hurt the chances for accuracy in that prediction.

I really don't see it from Newcastle though. Just don't see a goal from that lot since they can't generate shots. Boro, otoh, looked feisty against us. Sunderland and Hull have shown nothing. And WBA, while playing the best football of the bunch (comparatively speaking) are a day late and a dollar short.

Here's to Steve NOT going batshit.

I'm rooting for a Boro/Magpie draw this week and not for any reason other than an easier 09/10 season for FFC. Hull and Sunderland staying up is clearly better for us, period. Hull has Stoke at home this week if they can't get 3 there they're toast, even if they go down I'm sure glad Jimmy will get to play for the biggest club he has ever played for...in the Soda Pop league.

Don, I have seen nothing from the Toon that makes me think they have done anything but quit. They looked almost disinterested against Liverpool last week.

Toon -- v Boro (a 0-0 draw if ever there was one), v us, @ Villa. I honestly see one point max for them. And I will not go batshit, or batshittier, whatever you prefer.

Shearer, please start Coloccini against us. That's as good as starting the game up 1-0. At least that piece of subhuman excrement Barton will be on the bench -- our chances of sustaining injury in that game just went down significantly.

Well, today didn't go as I hoped, but I take solace in two things. 1 -- MY TEAM IS PLAYING FOR A EUROPEAN SPOT!! And Newcastle is in a position I remember all too well and none too fondly. 2 -- The Good Guys go to St James next weekend and make no mistake, we are the better team.

Hull face Bolton and Boro host a flat Villa side, so there's every chance for us to knock the Toon back onto suicide watch. Plus WBA could have a shot at the Scousers since United can clinch the title prior to that match.
