Teacher's Nightmare: Ogling Video on YouTube

A real problem... I can understand ANYONE taping her, she IS HOT!

And I understand exactly why she is pissed off. NOT like she's involved in a student sex scandal or anything approaching that.

But there is a real problem here... if a private person has the right to object to another private person using their image without permission then anyone wanting to post group pictures on the web has to get clearance from all involved.

    Very, VERY slippery slope.

And BTW... here is a typical idiotic PC Speak statement on the issue:

    ummm.... errrr... okay.

added: Okay... that ISNT REALLY what he said. Seems like some ABC editor felt they had to cut out a few words. And they obviously thought the edit said the same thing.
Watch the video on news site.
Oh, yes.. ALWAYS trust your news orgs to get it right. F$$$ing IDIOTS!

As a teacher myself, this stuff is disturbing. This is just a continuation of a lack of respect for teachers.

In the classroom, filming is totally out of order. In a school/public event like a 5th grade graduation or whatever, not much you can do about it. It's not illegal to film/photograph people in the public arena.

    Exactly!

HOWEVER, in the case of the internet.. there is a tendency to go beyond the meaning.

Someone somewhere is making a commercial profit, even if it's indirectly, by allowing access to the image.

    That COULD be an argument.

But the P2P people will tell you that they are offering a service, not the substance or subject matter of the service, and that THAT is generating the ad revenue.

In fact, they use that argument for a whole host of litigation attacks.
