Steve B on T-F-I suggested Gooch on his way back to London as CC upped the offer, as anyone with a brain would expect.. CC is no dummy.

Meanwhile: FansFC suggests Milan is looking for him

Bull hockey. Gooch may talk to them, but he wants to PLAY and neither Milan, Real, or Barca can assure he will.

While I agree with you on all points, 'fog, I must say that this is one thing the site really needed at this point -- THE TWENTY-SECOND THREAD DEALING WITH THE TRANSFER WINDOW!

Have a nice day! :3d smile:

    Point taken... and ignored.

I waited till the thing heated up enough to deserve its own thread. Note I made it sticky, not announce.

Assure? Jeez, I have a hard time believing any of those clubs can even suggest that he *might* get significant first team time, with the kind of depth that clubs like those have. (That's despite the fact that Gooch is, of course, ten times the player that that ass Rafa Marquez is.)

Edit: So here's the $64,000 question. Standard has a friendly today, right? Is Gooch playing?

Never mind, I was confused. Standard is in Portugal for winter training but (according to their website) don't play until Monday, when they visit Vfl Wolfsburg.

I think he really wants to plat at Fulham over all of these big name European teams.

1)A lot of Yanks on the squad, he'll feel right at home
2)He'll get plenty of playing time.
    3)They speak English in England.

Against the 3 very valid reasons for playing for Fulham is - No European football. Champions League is the biggest test of any player in domestic football.

I hope you are right, I would love Champions League European nights down at the cottage, we would scare the Italians before the game with a blast of Viva El Fulham!! (Any plans for a "Tim and Bob" cover version?")

The language may or may not be a factor for him. He's apparently now fluid in French as a result of his time in Belgium.

    What's this nonsense?

I got it off the Yanks-Abroad home page:

Of all the clubs linked to Oguchi Onyewu since summer, where would you most like to see him sign?

    AC Milan 18.6%
    Aston Villa 6.5%
    Chelsea 6.7%
    Fulham 28.8%
    Lazio 1.5%
    PSV Eindhoven 6.7%
    Reading 13.9%
    Real Madrid 14.6%
    Sporting Lisbon 1.2%
    Stay with Standard! 1.5%

    403 total votes

Is Gooch really matched with BOTH the Serie A and EPL scum?

Nah... that's just a wish list.

Look at the Reading vote, chalk that off to Browns/Hahnemann/Convey fans

If we do get Gooch to go with the Deuce, what in the world with PCB and I have to talk about on this site?

[answers, please, on a post card addressed to BBC Radio Four ...]

Don; Even in my limited time, something tells me you'll never be at a loss for words. Just hoping that Gooch signs soon and nobody aka Inter swoops in w/an offer he can't refuse. Smiling at the thought of the big fella making the likes of Peter Crouch fold like a tent when they run into him.

It says in the English Times taht FFC have given up on Onyewu due to him wanting a move to a 'better team'.
I have to say even as a fulham fan, I see his point with AC and Inter on the chase-also 'moneybags'!$$$
