    I think Lyle is pointing out that the accusations and hatred for Bush have crossed over into the realm of the irrational.

    Well, everyone thinks Abraham Lincoln was a great President, but if you look closely and from a different angle he can be made to look much worse.

    One could apply that to Bush and he doesn't look so bad.

    I also think it's a bit humorous to criticize such a sanctified past President.
