I am sure they get much more than miffed in Chicago.

Now the NBA, that is a season that is twice as long as it should be, at least if the playoffs are going to last as long as they currently do.

By George, I think he's got it! One of the best reasons not to mess with the baseball season is because it is a mildly entertaining distraction from everything else. You really don't have to love baseball (but you can love your team), but just follow it a little. And you can get your chores done around the house while it is on.

You just hit on something there.. I refer to lack of real game-winner effort by both managers and players prior to the All-Star break.

Now, late summer, every night we see defensive heroics and amazing base-running by the teams in contention.

But it's different than the NBA because it's ear-candy.. err chewing gum.. while you're going about other things.

The first half of the {baseball} season is about stats, the second is about winning.

Actually, the first half of the NBA season is all about determining your lineup and substitution patterns for the playoffs.

Note to FFCinPCB NBA Playoffs = What the Hawks were involved in when Dominique was wearing your uniform.

The NL wild card got a little clearer when the Astros couldn't score against the bleedin' Cubs at home batting against the 3rd starter at Iowa. Sigh.

TonyTex! All we got's is fitba. Sigh.

Indeed it is, save for the debacle last night! Silva is finally pitching a good game (something we Twins fans have been waiting for all year), and then he gets a tummy-ache? What kind of big wussy is he? Suck it up and stay in the game!

    Bring on the Tigers!

Oh, and did anyone else see that Liriano pitched a simulated game off the mound yesterday? He's comin' back folks and he's going to pick up right where he left off!

I am banking on Liriano's arm falling off in about 11 days. That should do the trick for the White Sox. I still have faith.

    Aint that a bitch!
Goes to show you... at end of season, some find ways to win some find ways to lose.

And some barely hang on by their fingernails and put themselvesunder a psych-cloud for the playoffs..

    Right Mr Russo?
