I would agree with that. They've been bagging a fair amount of goals so far. If they were going to splash some extra money on a bigger name Radz is probably not it, plus TFC has to pay even more for players because they are taxed twice. Once for Canadian taxes and the other for American taxes. Drives the price of players through the roof.

Completely forgot about him being Canadian. I am not sure when the rule for the number of Canadian born players goes into affect for TFC. I don't believe they needed to have a set amount for the first season...would of been a bit hard to find that many Canadians in their first season.

Radz would probably have a great reception at BMO Field. Is he retired from the national team?

Pretty sure he's not. Some Canadian fans I've talked to say that he's been out of their Gold Cup lineup because he doesn't want to risk injury while he's without a contract. Beasley and Gooch are in a similar position, but at least they'll still get paid by PSV and Standard Liege if anything happens.

I just checked and he is not listed on the Gold Cup roster, but he is still an active member of the national team. Understandable now that he is out of contract he wants to avoid injury, plus with fewer matches he can prolong his career. Isn't a bad idea.

that's good reason not to participate. too bad though cuz that would have strengthened the Canadian side even more. I'd like to see them and Mexico mix it up in the quarters or semis

Both sides are far from top form, but I would give the edge to the Canucks. They have showed some promise going forward and the backline of Mexico seem to let everything through.

DeRosario is looking pretty impressive. Would like to see him put a few more shots on goal, but he is linking up with the rest of his team on a pretty consistent basis.

I've noticed a lot of talk mostly about hopeful signings soon to come, but how about the impending departures. Q may be on his way out due to differences of strategy with LS, but how about Brown.

I've read a lot of speculation linking him with Wigan. Apparently he isn't all that happy at Fulham and is listening to offers. Anyone think he will move on?

    Fulham make double bid

Was just watching Sky Sports News on TV and the info ticker just said this:

"Fulham have made a bid for West Brom duo Diomansy Kamara & Jason Koumas."

Now that would be an interesting pair to bring in.

yeah....not the first to go after Kamara...I believe Birmingham had an offer for Kamara turned down.

also...i think West Brom is a good club to poach players from as they did a good job of keeping a majority of their squad together after their relegation last year in hopes that they would achieve promotion and come right back up. it didn't happen though so now they may be more inclined to sell some of those players. Zoltan Gera anyone?

I like Zoltan Gera. I think he is quality in the midfield. I would not mind us getting him.

I know I have said this a thousand times, but we need DEFENDERS!!! Where are the defenders?

I know we need defenders but I'll take Koumas and Kamara if our bid works out.

if there were no such things as yellow or red cards i'd say sign me up to play CB. i'd go in w/ two feet, studs up every time...no one would score on me!!!! :)

Was the amount of the bid for Kamara and Koumas ever mentioned Mike?

Kamara would be a solid addition to the side. I favor Healy over him, but still an improvement all the same. Koumas would be vital IMO. Has loads of experience and shown the ability to create goals either by himself or setting up teammates.

Omsdogg...what would the nickname be..."career ender"?

i was thinking more along the lines of "Clean Sheet". probably the first time someone other then a goalie would earn that distinction! :)

    "Clean Sheet"...I like it.

Hoping for Koumas, Kamara or even Healy this week. Could be wishful thinking, but Mike believes we will have a big signing. Lets all hope and pray that happens. Liven the spirits a bit of all Fulham supporters.

We're being named alongside "I hope they keep us" kind of players. It's going to be a long year. It would be neat to see Sanchez and Reed wander farther afield to pick up some cheap Eastern European players or South Americans.
