We all know he can turn in some breathless play, and we all know that he's a real forward. He's not the big, strong holder and aerial presence that Macca is [but we've only ever developed one of them in all our football existence], but he might turn out to be an asset.

And, to look on the bright side, this will give the Offal a new American to bash and to blame for all our misfortune.

Welcome to Cloud Cuckoo Land, Eddie. And, please, when you score on your debut, kiss the badge; don't point at your name on the jersey.

I don't suppose there's any chance that EJ has stayed match fit during the MLS offseason so that he'll be ready to contribute right away?

I hear that Christanval, Pearce, and Kasey Keller are all fit again.

I say -- bring on the Yank in goal!

An article on the club website has also confirmed that Kasey Keller, Ian Pearce and Philippe Christanval played the full 90 in a reserve match today. I don't want Pearce anywhere near the first team - he was too slow for the Premiership two years ago - but this is still good news for our depth all around.

Now that EJ is in the fold, it looks like there will be 2 other strikers signed. My guess is that Cousin and Litmanen will be in and King will return to Watford or move elsewhere.

**Noticed that Kamara scored for Senegal in their 2-2 in their 1st ACN game or in other words 25% of his production for FFC in the entire season.

I wish I had a warm and fuzzy about EJ but I don't. He is too slight to do well int he premiership, and I really don't feel good about some of the head case stunts he pulled. I hope to be proven wrong, but this move does not fill me with hope that 17th place beckons.

I don't know how EJ will do but 6' 180lbs is not to slight.

I don't buy the "too slight" argument - EJ is 20 pounds heavier than Louis Saha and 10 pounds heavier than Nicolas Anelka, both of whom are basically the same height. I'm not saying Johnson is of the same quality as those guys, of course, but 6'0" 180 is plenty big for the Premiership.

I'm not convinced about EJ but I have not seen him enough to be overly critical. His size is fine for the prem, his speed is good as well but how does he do under pressure? He won't get the room in the Prem that he gets in the MLS which is the only real concern of mine.

    Regardless, welcome EJ.

If all of Fulham was McBrides and Dempseys oh what a Fulham it would be...standing outside with our arms raised high...ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah....if all of Fulham was McBrides and Dempseys oh what a Fulham it would be!

Since it's not this line-up won't be bad...hopefully for Tuesday but if not maybe our next match???

is that Demarcus Beasely you got in the lineup there? He's actually out injured and plays for Rangers. Bullard and Andreason should be switched since Bullard is an attacking mid and Andreason a defensive mid. Other than that, I got no problems with your lineup.

I'm not sure how well he does under pressure because how much pressure is one of the worst MLS sides really under???

I do know that he didn't do so well during the World Cup when he came in but then again who did on the US squad???

We will see, I think he will be looking to prove himself especially early...either way it can't be worse to put him up top and dempsey back to the midfield.

Been out of the loop for awhile but signing EJ is hilarious. God love em but Fulham is turning into the USNMT. Love it.

Now as long as the USMNT doesn't get relegated, we're good to go.

Not dropping hints here, but would you guys be happy if we also signed Marlon King or do you want to give him a miss?
