Why not go after Eddie Johnson? Or Defoe?
I would've suggested Nery Castillo, but I think he just went to another EPL club...

I don't see the sense in more signings of guys who can't be in the squad. Let's go after somebody who can slot in immediately. If we survive, this summer is the time for 19 year-old defenders who can't get a first team match in Brazil.

After reading Lucarelli's wikipedia entry: That guy seems kinda crazy. I think we should stay away.

Still don't see why Watford would want to sell King unless we backed up a truck full of money, which doesn't make much sense from our standpoint.

A 19 year old Brazilian wing back probably isn't the type of player who should be high on our priority list right now, but Roy's a professional and I suppose we should have faith in him to be able to focus on more than one thing at a time.

We as fans cannot complain that Fulham has done a poor job of developing young talent and suggest the club look at Arsenal as a model for building a youth squad; then complain when the manager goes out and buys young international talent.

Does the squad need to be bolstered now? Of course it does but Fulham will still be here next year whether we survive relegation or not and I for one am happy that Roy is looking to the future as well as the present.

I do not want to be relegated. As our own HatterDon and the always welcome visitor, LBNo11, have pointed out, the climb is much steeper and longer than it appears from where we are now. There is no promise of a quick return, or a return at all.

    We are in Code Red.

Maybe we shouldn't get rid of anyone that Sanchez brought in. After all, we may need them next year, since they seem to be of Coca-Cola Championship calibre.

Hey y'all, let's stay positive....if most of the bad calls and bad luck from the 1st half of the season fall for us from here on out, we'll stay up. It's a fact that we are NOT one of the 3 worst teams in the Prem. Hopefully the last half of the schedule will prove me right. COCOCOCOYW

Looks like we are back in for King according to Sky:

"Fulham have increased their offer for Watford striker Marlon King to £4.5million plus a player."

I wonder who the player is. Any ideas?

Marlon King is crap at this level. I wish we would stop going down a league to get players. Not only that, but we are spending loads of cash on these players. The summer window should of taught us a lesson. If we cannot afford Premier League players then go to the continent for players. Its that simple. If we give up 4.5M and a player like John or maybe even Cook then we truly have no clue what we are doing in the transfer market. Coleman would of never bought a player like King for 4.5M plus a player.

Collins John is five years younger than Marlon King and has scored more Premiership goals. That move would make no sense to me.

SSN said that we offered Boothroyd a list of players to choose from. Hopefully that list was Seol or Simon Elliot.

Or Baird. I'd put Baird on that list too.

Put it this way - if Albelda is the only player we sign in January, I'd be very happy.

Albelda is good. Loads of experience at very high levels, over 200 games for Valencia and almost 50 for Spain. And he wants to go somewhere he can showcase his skills so he can get picked to play for Spain this summer, we certainly fit that bill.

I think today's match highlighted the need for a striker, too.

Yeah. There has been many games that have highlighted the need for a striker. I know some aren't too fond of Marlon King, but personally I would take him in a heartbeat over Kamara and Healy. If McBride can get back and move Dempsey back to midfield, maybe that would help Healy, but he just really doesn't ever look like scoring. He plays ok in patches, but I just don't understand. He is so good at the international level.

    Fulham to announce signing

After failing to sign Marlin King or David Albelda, Fulham are set to announce the signing of a young new talent, striker Shane O'Neill. While having no Premiership experience, he has had great success in lower leagues like OYSAN, and after a short while getting adjusted to the offsides rule, he should fit right in to Fulham's starting XI. He also should fulfill Hodgson's need for height because he has grown a lot since this picture was taken. He now stands about 4' 8", which puts him a good 8" taller than David Healy, FFC's only dedicated striker who is fit. O'Neill also has a great deal of experience playing plush football. So if the EPL were ever to switch to a plush ball, O'Neill would have an edge over much of the league. Roy Hodgson expressed great appreciation that FFC's management finally made the funds available for such an important acquisition. Rumour has it over 30 video games and 50 lbs. of candy from Harrods was needed to secure O'Neill's signing!
