And I nominate Don for the most confusing metaphor/dialectic of the month

It's like "Benny Hill does Dennis Miller"

I think several people on here are from Chicago. I happen to be in Chicago this weekend and was thinking of going to The Globe (?) to watch the Fulham game tomorrow morning. Anybody going there, been there, know anything about it? Message me and let me know!

This thread is what is great about Fulham USA. It has at the same time informed me, amused me, confused me (a lot), and gotten me to think.

Unfortunately, what I'm thinking is that I don't see us scoring with the 4-5-1 so the best I could hope for is a draw. On the other hand, we lead the league in goals allowed, and Niemi is out, so I don't see a clean sheet in our future either. All of my attempts to believe in (or even understand) the psychology, reverse psychology, and double-reverse psychology in this thread to the contrary, I fear for tomorrow's result (but I'll certainly be watching and hoping for better).

Lastuvka is Man Of the Match, and we win a squeaker, 0-1.

Sorry mate. I will actually be recording this match on my DVR and watching later in the afternoon. With the upcoming trip to Poland, Christmas shopping has to get done in the morning to beat the crowds. The Globe is a great place though!

Boy, things just keep looking up. Longer bench and more options to try. I'd have to juggle my linup now...gotta get Que and Christanval in there.

Is the Boa part really good news though?

I know, we have no choice but to run him out there if he's able.

With Queudrue back in, Christanval probabaly playing CB next to Knight, Volz takes a seat on the pine, and who gets left out of the squad for the trip?

I used to live just a few blocks from The Globe -- it's a nice place. It's on Irving Park just down from the Ravenswood stop. If it's too crowded, Ginger's Ale House on Ashland, a couple blocks south of Irving Park (so maybe a half a mile or so from The Globe) is also a good place to watch.

We probably will lose and probably lose badly. We are rubbish away from home and they are world class at home. We will probably play a defensive formation however, Agger and Hyypia have had some rough times this season so I would like John to start up front because of his pace. Lastuvka needs to make some big saves and if he does we might eek out a draw, but that is unlikely.

Hard to know what to think on this one. Nemi will be sorely missed regardless. I'm hoping for a draw.

The first half wasn't so bad, Fulham was lucky not to get called on either of those 2 handballs.

The second half? Ugggggggggggh. After the Gerrard goal of the PK rebound, it was like a faucet opening up for Liverpool (and I don't mean the rain/hail). Dreadful second half for Fulham. For some reason, I felt confident for Fulham today but wow, I was dead wrong. Little attack, the defense eventually got broken, and Jamie Freaking Carragher scores his first goal since 1999 in this one.

At least Fulham doesn't have to go back to Anfield anytime soon.

I tried my best to influence the result... by staying away from the Chat.

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to matter.

Yeah the chat was about as dead as the team in the 2nd half. I give credit Lastuvka for getting a hand on that pk. There wasn't much he could do.

Guess we should have stuck with just the reverse-reverse psychology.

Had to leave a little before half time for a gig. Sigh. Giving the FUSA shirt a rest for a while on match days. The mojo seems to have worn off a little. I think I'll break out my McBride shirt for next week.

I only watched until the third goal but it seemed to me the rare 4-0 game where the game was not a close as the score indicated.

Well, I'm certainly getting a taste of what it means to be Fulhamish! We can go and beat Arsenal and then get killed by Liverpool. If Fulham ever plays consistently well, we will be a fixture in the top ten.
