Hull City and Peterborough have earned promotion atop the standings. Blackpool and Lincoln City meet at Wembley on Sunday to determine the final Championship spot. Blackpool defeated Oxford United and Lincoln City got by Sunderland (remember them?) to advance to the final. Both will involve a butt numbing journey for away supporters: Lincoln City is 3 hours north of the Cottage, Blackpool is 4 and a quarter hours north northwest.

They were so much fun to watch when they were in the Prem. Their fans were seriously looney, and everyone was out for a good time.

Before marriage and a kid I used to spend a lot of time at an Irish pub that opened early for the EPL. The year they were up the lone Blackpool supporter would drink heavily and if they won most the bar would drink for free until he left. So I always have good memories of Blackpool.

Yep. Wide open, offensive football under Ian Holloway.

Holloway was a treat all on his own. Always good for a quote. One of my favorites was when he was asked which area his team needed improvement. He said "that big green rectangular area outside."
