Damn, Josh. And here I thought it was because Bullard and McBride were injured until February and we had an idiot in charge until November!

OK, it was a bit unfair of me to put the situation we were in ENTIRELY on Kamara. Obviously there were a number of factors that contributed. The fact remains, we all thought he was underperforming all season long and if he'd converted earlier opportunities that were similar to those from the Man City game (or even easier chances, perhaps), the situation in April and May at least wouldn't have been so dire.

It's fun to play "what if," but for me McBride's injury screwed everything up. Healy was enjoying playing off him -- except for one stupid referee's call, three goals in his first four matches -- and Kamara provided energy and pace off the bench as McBride's sub. With Supermac out, Kamara and Healy weren't enough in and of themselves to make the difference and, finally, LS had to move Deuce up to striker.

I firmly believe that had Brian not gone down, we'd have had a decent season. Certainly we would have continued to play the way we did early on instead of playing long-ball crap. The bad side of this "what if" game is we might still have LS as a manager, and Roy might be working at Blackburn or Pompey or West Ham or even at Tottenham.

Yep. Last season, Ben Sheets blew out his elbow in the last week of the season with the Milwaukee Brewers. For all the talk radio blabbering about Sheets not being there "when it counts" or "when the team needed him", people forget that without his contributions, the Brewers would have been mathematically eliminated in August.

Kamara got the ball off a Dempsey header if I recall. At work, so can't give you the YouTube link, but positive that was the case.

Everyone is correct. It was a long throw by Baird which was then headed across goal by Dempsey and then kicked in by Kamara.

I'm like an encyclopedia of useless info. :D
