It's nice to see he's found a way back into a top league in a different sport than hockey.

    Wait, no, that's Tomi Kallio.

But seriously, according to Wikipedia (just humor me), his nickname is "Bonecrusher." That is crucial information. Also learning that he's better at center back than left back.

Does anyone know much about Kallio? I can't seem to come up with much. Roy must like him.

    Here's where he's played recently:
    1996–1999 TPV
    1997 FC Jazz (loan)
    2000–2004 HJK Helsinki
    2004–2007 Molde FK
    2007–2008 Young Boys
    2008 Fulham (loan)
    2008 Fulham
Other than that, I can't find much.

Thanks. Looks like he is tall, 6' 4"......following Optimizers link Wikipedia says he is a good header of the ball, probably an asset on set pieces, and a big tough presence like Hangeland. Let's hope he is healthy and will get a sniff at some playing time so we can see how good he is.

This guy was rumoured to be coming last January but it did not work out for one reason or another. I do not know much about this guys attributes and skill set, but I do know that Hodgson is familiar with him from his time managing the Finnish national team.

Looks like another Scandinavian giant for our backline. If he's anything like Hangeland, I'll be excited!

Tom, I thought that he DID come in January. He just spent time in the reserves, though.

Actually, come to think of it, I think he was loaned to us and might have been in the reserves or injured. Good call Don.

Yes, he was loaned to us last season according to his Wikipedia entry. I am not sure whether he was injured or in the reserves. For our sake, I hope he was injured as we do not need a 29-year-old defender in the reserves. That would not be the best investment.

I'm fairly sure it was a permanent signing in January, and yes, he was a regular for the reserves. I think he's seen as a cheap backup more than anything. Can fill in at CB, LB, or LM, but I wouldn't expect him to play much.

Though, he did bonecrush Ronaldo pretty well in one of the Euro qualifiers.
