Well, if there's a cold snap, a small, but important portion of Craven Cottage's mailbox can't be reached by Postman Pat.

as I was pointing out elsewhere, in more than 9 years of living south of the Midlands, I never saw anything like the volume of this storm, nor any snow that stuck around for more than a day or two.

thoughts about Dacourt? If he makes more than 1 or 2 sub appearances, I'll be very surprised. He's slowed down so much he can't keep up in the Italian league; I can't see him playing in the fast-forward English league.

    Glad Danny re-upped.

So with the exception of Dacourt and Omz coming back, is that all the action the club will be seeing?

    Well, that and Giles Barnes.

After the match Saturday, Woy said he was talking with two players. Assuming Dacourt was one, there might be another deal in the works, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    From Goal.com......

Olivier Dacourt And Brian McBride To Join Fulham - 2/1

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is set to go with experience and sign two players over the age of 33 as he tries to give his young side some strength and depth with the proposed signings of Olivier Dacourt and Brian McBride.

Frenchman Dacourt is set for a return to the Premier League after it was revealed that the 34-year-old was having a medical at Craven Cottage.

Dacourt will add much needed experience to the Fulham midfield after the club allowed Leon Andreasen to join German Bundesliga side Hannover, as well as letting influential midfielder Jimmy Bullard join Hull City in a deal worth around £5 million.

The club also confirmed yesterday the loan signing of Derby County youngster Giles Barnes with a view to a permanent contract at the end of the season.

Brian McBride is in line for a return to the club he left last year. The 36-year-old striker is rumoured to be on Hodgson's wanted list as back up for goal-shy Bobby Zamora, as well as Andy Johnson and Erik Nevland.

The American international was allowed to return to his homeland upon seeing out his contract with the west London club last summer, but now Hodgson wants him back to re-strengthen the side.

Currently with the Chicago Fire of Major League soccer, McBride is still considered a bit of a hero with the London outfit. An anonymous source at the club tells Goal.com that a loan deal for McBride is nearly complete and will see the American back at Craven Cottage soon.

Sully, there was some chatter about this earlier in the thread. Since I haven't seen the rumor reiterated anywhere today, I think it's probably bunk.

I know this is old moaning, but the window closed 3 hours and 40 minutes ago, and they're still in the process of finalizing the Arshavin to Arsenal move. There were also several international signings that occurred 1-2 hours after the window closed. Remember last January? Remember how we lost Cousin because we couldn't get the deal done in time?

This, added to no suspension time for Chelsea's defender for his assault in yesterday's match, just drives me nuts. I swear, the EPL is about 3 weeks away from being SerieA in terms of corruption.
