Another rejection of central control

This means in every country where the EU constitution has been put to a vote, it's been rejected.
Including France.

Seems to me, the EU was formed to be a trade bloc and that's exactly what people want it to remain.

 

Things seem to be working pretty well for them in that form (a trade bloc that is); not sure why there's any impetus to change.

I think the changes in the EU are leading to a stronger xenophobic feeling in the UK - often whipped up by the popular press. There are a bunch of crazy regulations that we have to adhere to in the UK because we adopt into law EU policy.

I would very much like a referendum on the EU treaty (it's not a constitution because the MEP's tell is it's not and we believe them). It will affect many aspect of UK life and I should have the right to vote - our government promised a vote and then backed out when it looked like they would lose.

Seems like the criticisms of the no vote is making some 'Yes' voters change their minds.

Probably even some are regretting accepting the bait in EU development funds... the invoice having listed 'In exchange for your national political sovereignty'.

It would be clear to the cynic like me.. there is always a price to pay.
