Bit of a foregone conclusion, and yes, very good news.

Can someone explain what a "rolling 12-month deal" is, exactly? Does it mean his contract automatically renews each year unless one or the other cancels it? That doesn't seem like much of a deal for Roy...I'd think he'd want a multi-year contract. There must be something I'm not understanding here.

It gives him the flexibility to retire, bail or renegotiate annually. It also lessens any buyout for a national team (or club) should he leave us for them.

I would have liked a more "concrete" deal, but I'm glad he's sticking with Fulham with a little while longer. He's been absolutely fantastic in turning this team into a legit. top table threat and I'd love to see how far he can take the club.

Actually, from what I have heard, it renews each month for the following 12 months. The reason this is done is two-fold. If he gets the sack, he gets 12 months pay, if he wants to leave he is automatically giving FFC 12 months to plan.

As for how far Roy can take us. We need a major trophy, and if he gave us that, well, he would become an absolute legend...and his statue next to Johnny's.
